fertilizer hazardous to dogs?

A couple weeks ago they sprayed the grass around our apartment and put up the signs. My neighbor called the people and asked them about it. They said it is fine unless the dog eats a bunch of grass.
The fertilizer is not sweet tasting and is probably a lot more bitter. I highly doubt any animal would eat enough to be a problem at all. I wouldn't worry about it
Agree if the fertilizer spills and the dog walks on it quite a bit, but once the product is applied, there shouldn't be too much chance of getting enough on them to to anything.
If you're that worried about it, apply it during the evening when rain is coming or run a sprinkler on the grass once you apply it in the evening because it doesn't take much water for it to dissolve and soak into the soil.
I apply the fert before a good rain coming in or just water it in, then after it dries up, I let the guy in my avatar back in the yard. Not so much that they will eat it but when they clean their paws, they'll get it in their eyes and mouth, chew on their bones...
If it has weed control or something with pesticides you should definately water the lawn afterwards to make sure that it soaks in. The dry stuff can stick to paws and the dogs may lick it off getting them sick.
