it's very redneck. Have you ever been to the Boone Wal-mart? You will see some very interesting people there.
Oh no! God forbid there are farmers in a small Iowa town!

This whole list is skewed because people on CF generally don't live in bad neighborhoods or participate in criminal activities. I've never felt unsafe in Mtown because my neighborhood is good and I don't go to the bars here.
I think this list is more about what cities are poor and therfore more likely to have populations commit petty crimes.
Hell a friend's car got stolen in Ames a few years back. Is ames more dangerous for me than marshalltown? This is all about our perceptions and experiences.
No Marshalltown?
I don't consider any town in Iowa to be overly dangerous. Go to Memphis and have a look around.

With violent crimes included, how is Iowa City not on the list?
Also, drive through East St Louis and show me this list with a straight face...
I don't get Keokuk being on that list. I have never lived there, but, every time I visited it seemed like a fairly quiet little river town. Waterloo, well, there are some parts of that town that are pretty scary, and other areas that are nice.
