So much teeing off today on personal levels. I'm sure guys like Mark, Bret, and CW are all man enough to take such criticism, but is it really necessary to spew your negativity on here publicly, for all to see? You don't like listening to them, then don't listen! You all sound like a bunch of pi**ed off Hok Twitter trolls.

As for todays podcast, I liked it, and do agree with Mark's take that we lose Saturday (probably) and will struggle to win more than 3 games. I remain clinging to shreds of hope for winning the TTU, WVU, TEX, and KSU games, but maintain that losing any of those games will not surprise me. So call me an optimistic realist I suppose...The Hok talk was a bit much, a little too much Herky for a Cy podcast.

Like it or not, I am consistent. I say what I think. ISU is not good. They just aren't. Rhoads is not a good coach. ISU will win a max of three games this year . . . probably only 2.
Does that sound negative? Maybe. But it is also what I believe will happen this year. There is no valid proof to suggest otherwise.

As far as building up the Hawks, they are 5-0. Enough said.

I am not going to be "Yay ISU" at all times when they stink. Apparently that is what you want. Not happening.

I genuinely don't know, but are you an ISU fan? This isn't a "gotcha" as I also think ISU is terrible this year, won't win this weekend, and won't win more than 3 games. Granted I don't listen every week, but I've never heard you be excited or enthusiastic about ISU when that's how fans usually are toward their team.

just a quick comment that many on this board get upset CW isn't more realistic because they think it might impact his access to the athletic department. then a guy comes on and says ISU isn't that good and you get upset about that. i'm not "picking sides" other than to ask what do you want?

Why do people who accept losses reject predictions of losses?

So, are you taking those bets on I made with you on your own spreads or what?

Here nor there
Disagree with Charter, we definitely have a chance, but we rarely play well enough to capitalize on such games. Hopefully Rhoads can surprise us.

Full disclosure: On Kingsbury's radio show tonight he said Mahomes is still not where he(Kingsbury) wants him to be(health wise).

I'm a 3rd generation Texas Tech fan and my first year of college was Leach's first year of Texas Tech so I've seen more "Air Raid" QB's than 98% of college football fans and I've never seen anyone as good as Mahomes. There have been A LOT of QB's run Leach's version of the Air Raid across college football and none of them have had the arm talent of Pat Mahomes. Call me a "homer" say whatever you want....but I'm telling you guys that Pat Mahomes is the best QB Iowa State will face this season.

Boykin is very good, Russell and Mayfield are system QB's but Mahomes is the best of them. I would say the same thing if Mahomes played for Kansas. His father was an MLB pitcher for over a decade and Mahomes would have been a top draft pick as a pitcher if he would have committed to baseball.

Mahomes probably won't be at 100% on Saturday but Mahomes at 80% is still the best QB in the Big 12.

Meh, the Heisman is rarely about the best player in college football. It's usually handed on a silver platter to the QB on the best team or the QB who has made the most headlines. You won't ever seen Pat Mahomes arrested or accused of raping anyone. He's an actual quality human being on a program that isn't flashy so his Heisman chances are extremely low.

this is the part that makes you a homer

Maybe so....but you'll see Mahomes, Boykins and Russell for yourself soon enough. When you're watching the games just realize that everything Mahomes is doing is on a bum knee and it's being done without a Josh Doctson or Corey Coleman. Also remember that 99% of college QB can't throw a rope across their body 60 yards down the field.

I've seen Graham Harrell, Colt McCoy, Sam Bradford, Robert Griffin, Treyvon Boykin and Brandon Weeden in person. Patrick Mahomes is the better than all of them. I've had over 140+ posts on this site and I've never BS'd anyone here, I'm telling you this kid is one of the best you've seen.

He has Grant who is as good as anyone in the league at getting open. Also, I get you like your guy and you should because he's very good but do you realize you just put him above two Heisman winners and #1 draft picks? Cumong man.

Robert Griffin won the Heisman because he has dreadlocks and he got a lucky tipped pass against Oklahoma. Everyone knows the guy sucks as a QB. No one in the NFL will touch the guy because he's a terrible human being, as most Art Briles disciples are terrible human beings, and he's a terrible QB.

I like Sam Bradford but there is zero chance the guy is winning the Heisman at Kansas or Indiana. He won it because he played for Oklahoma. He's a below average QB with minimal arm talent. The NFL has proven that.

I respect Charter for being honest. It sucks to be a fan and to see no light at the end of the tunnel.

All eyes are on the offense. They will have to have a breakout game (five+ touchdowns) against a better defense than Kansas. If the mighty Cyclones can run the ball and the defense can get a turnover or two, then we have a chance.

He's been hurt every year. You're a homer. Your QB isn't better than those guys. I'm sorry to break it to you. You Tech fans are so obnoxious when you're good.

Robert Griffin sucks. He's probably the single most overrated player of all time.

Texas Tech isn't even good this year. Good teams don't lose to Baylor and TCU.

It's sports radio. People disagree. That's what makes it fun. Charter and I disagree all of the time. Same with Gray. I still love the guy. Not sure why dudes on anonymous message boards can't do the same without getting vulgar.

Ummmmm.....

Boykin and Mayfield are both leaps and bounds over Mahomes.
