Please explan, we are always looking for a new game
Let's see if I can make this clear, consise, and not too long. "Hybrid" refers to the melding of Beer Pong and Flippy Cup. Created by some friends of mine when I was in school, pretty popular game for members of the band. (at least at that time...not sure how much has lived on) Those who have played, help me out if i've left out stuff or am incorrect on anything.
Set-up: Two teams of 4-6. Everyone has their own cup they are responsible for, all of which are in a circle around a center 'communal' cup. (so with four players, the setup looks like a 5 on a die, 6 cups makes a complete circle around the center cup.) Outer cups have small amounts of beverage (like you would have in flippy cup.) Center cup is (usually) a full beer. If not, it should be decidedly fuller than the outer cups.
Game Play: Rules are just like beer pong. House rules can apply, but usually two balls made = balls back, girls can blow, bounces can count for two cups...etc. Must always throw in pairs of two, and they must be the same pairs. So if A, B, C, and D are a team, A and B always throw together, C and D always throw together the next time. If A-B sink both balls and get balls back, A-B shoot again.
Scoring: A ball made in the outer ring (personal cups) = 2 pts. A ball made in the center cup = 5 pts. Play to 42.
Drinking: If a ball lands in an outer cup, the person who 'owns' that cup drinks the cup and refills. If a ball lands in the center cup, BOOM! ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE! The game has now turned into flippy cup....but a free-for-all against your own teamates. All members of the team with cups around the center cup which has been shot into immediately chug their beverage, and flip their cup. Last person who has not successfully flipped, gets to have the center cup. In this way, sinking the center cup not only scores you 5 points, but makes the other team play against themselves to not have to drink the center cup.
