Dirk Deam was easily my favorite. I feel comfortable saying that John Cunnally was my least favorite, by far.

I've never understood all the love for Dirk Deam---I had a couple classes with him. I went to class everyday and got B's in both classes but I can't say I learned anything from him.

Lina Del Castillo that teaches Latin American history may be the hottest professor on the planet

Eric Northway and Barbara Mack were both awesome. With Barbara Mack, it seemed like people either really loved her or really hated her. The latter were people that usually not willing to put in the time or effort into the class and were expecting to be handed high grades regardless.

But my favorite at ISU was Anne Clem.

This.

I'd almost forgotten about Larry. Is he still teaching? I remember when we were talking about disclaimers and "stupid things like 'Caution: Hot' on coffee, or 'Don't stick your hand in the snow blower'" and he asked who the dumb**** was who stuck his hand in the snowblower. Then he holds up his hand with the missing finger and goes "Oh yeah, that was THIS dumb****." Classic.

another vote for Larry Curtis. Coach K (Steve Krafcisin) "Coaching Basketball" and Teri Heisterkamp (asst softball coach) "Bowling" were fun instructors. Wouldn't call them professors.

Teri was the guidance counseler at my high school. Very nice lady who helped me it a ton with applying for scholarships and such.

Pretty cool to see all the love for Dirk Deam and Kathleen Waggoner; it's nice knowing that people appreciate profs that push and challenge you...even though I sat through Waggoner's classes every day hoping that she wouldn't call my name (calling me Mister, of course).

Everyone thought Cheryl Doolittle in the math department was hot, but I'm not sure why. The Italian meteorology chick, too.

I had two profs that were older than Methuselah. One was Young Kihl, who would tell the same stories again and again. The other was Fred Wright, who taught the very first course I walked into, discrete math. This was right when Coke just started coming out with flavored sodas (I think all they had was lemon Coke), and this guy would drink 2-3 during the lecture and constantly rant and rave about how good they were, completely amazed that they could make a soda with lemon flavoring added. Reminded me of Grandpa Simpson.

The best by far, though, was Matt Potoski: Matthew Potoski - Rofflehaus

There was a Politcal Science prof that I liked also. I can't remember his name though. He taught a beginning class. Early 90's. Anyone know?

Dr. Jim Colbert and Dr. Robert Wallace.

Dr. Colbert if you are a biology nerd

Dr. Robert Wallace because he makes horticulture interesting. And he pulled tighty whities out of his pants on the first day of "Plants and People".

You didn't even finish the best part of the story! This was when he was mayor of Ames and Fred Hoiberg was playing for ISU. One of his neighbors saw him right after he lost his finger and ran into the house and told his wife "Call an ambulance, the mayor lost his hand." Well the typical Cyclone fan will think of Fred Hoiberg "The Mayor" rather than the actual Mayor of Ames Larry Curtis. So the entire neighborhood thought that Fred Hoiberg lost his hand and cant play basketball anymore.

Surprised we almost got through two pages without a Fred Choobineh reference......I'm not sure he was my favorite, but he was entertaining and somewhat of a cult figure.

The music he played at the beginning/end of lectures always cracked me up! I also never had another professor invite the whole lecture to FAC.. Good times.

Andrew Hochstetler in Criminal Justice. This guy is hilarious and could definitely hold your attention during class.

Douglas King (Exercise Physiology and Medical Aspects of Exercise) and Warren Franke (Principles of Fitness Assessment and Exercise Prescription). Never a boring class with these guys.
