I'm also a fan of Annapolis. Solid boxing film starring James Franco that I've probably seen about 10 times.

What is your favorite movie that it feels like nobody but you has ever seen?

One of my favorites is Choke - it's based on a book by Chuck Palahniuk, the same guy who wrote Fight Club. It stars Sam Rockwell (who I think has genius comedic timing) and Angelica Huston.

First movie I thought of was "Missing in America" from 2005 starring Danny Glover, Ron Perlman, Linda Hamilton and David Straithairn. I'd never see it advertised before, but it came up on Netflix a while back and it's pretty good

Leap of Faith with Steve Martin is very clever.

Very good, but my favorite of the obscure Steve Martin movies is The Lonely Guy.

Roxanne is really really well thought out too. The whole irony monologue with Hanna, and using his nose to find the fire are hysterical.

Other sweet movies that nobody remembers are Little Man Tate, Jody Foster's first directorial effort about a genius kid.

Nobody's Fool with Paul Newman was outstanding as well, I think that was the last movie that Newman was nominated for. Great movie...

I always have a soft spot for low budget 80-90's action flicks.

Gladiators - a decent underground boxing movie w/ a Cuba Gooding jr.
Gladiator (1992 film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Prayer of the Rollerboys - Futurisitic movie w/ Corey Haim on Rollerblades battling white supremacist drug dealers. Nuff said!
Prayer of the Rollerboys - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Red Dawn - I don't know how under the radar this movie is, but every time I see it on TV, always sucks me in and I have to watch it. Patrick Swayze & Charlie Sheen as brothers, what else could you want?

Speaking of Swayze - Gotta love Roadhouse, Youngblood, Point Break, and Donnie Darko as well.

I just got done reading "Choke." Didn't realize it was a movie. I'll have to look for it.

One of my favorites was "Goin' South." Starred Jack Nicholson and Mary Steenbergen. Also had John Belushi and Christopher Lloyd. Funny stuff.

Loved Memento.

A good western I can't find is "Cry For Me Billy." A nobody stars, but Harry Dean Stanton has a role.

Last but not least, "Sands of the Kalahari." About a plane crashing in the Kalahari desert, and the survivors' struggle with the baboons and each other. A classic.

Extract was hilarious!!!

Ok, I'll add a couple:

A Serious Man- I'm an enormous Coen Brothers fan, and it seems like no one I talk with has seen this one.

Happy Endings- With Lisa Kudrow and Maggie Gyllenhall. not my favorite movie but in the vein of real good movies nodody saw, this one fits.

True Romance- With Christian Slater and an entire plethora of fantastic actors. This may not fit the profile as "unknown", but a remarkable amount of people seem to have never seen it when it comes up in conversation.

"Blood Simple" is a great Coen Bros film that didn't get much play. M. Emmett Walsh plays a great part.

Hard to contribute much this late but I'll try.

"Being There" - Peter Sellers in what turned out to be a look forward to what the political system would become.

"Blast from the Past"- Alicia Silverstone in something that I felt was really undervalued.

"Lost in America"- Albert Brooks at his zenith.

Seems like someone should mention Fraternity Vacation since Iowa State is in the storyline.
