You can use it if your internet provider is in partnership with ESPN3.com. For instance, here in Omaha Cox Communications provides it but Centurylink does not. So for those who use Cox, they can log onto ESPN3.com click Cox as their provider and watch til their heart's content. I am not so fortunate with my stupid Century link internet :realmad:.

Yes, Century Link totally sucks.

I will probably have to watch this game on First Row Sports. I wonder if it will be on Justintv? I have that channel on my ROKU but have never watched it. Would i just search for "Iowa State"? I dont know what Justintv channel it would be on.

The ESPN3 app on my Xbox works for this too - but sometimes the games don't show up until just before gametime...I've never seen a game that was on any ESPN channel that was NOT on ESPN3. Like another poster said - if you have Mediacom, you can use ESPN3 to watch online (via your computer, Xbox 360, etc).

This is exactly my setup for ESPN U games. I have mediacom but espnu is not in HD, however with my xbox I can stream the game in HD with the xbox gold membership and rewatch pretty much all ISU games brodcast on espn networks dating back to the UCONN football game

Sometimes the games are on ESPNU and ESPN3. Tonight it's just ESPNU. If you want to watch it on ESPN3 you can, you just have to pay for membership. (not sure if that makes since) In other words, if you are on campus you can watch ESPN3 games for free. If you are on campus and want to watch tonight's game on ESPN3 you will have to buy a membership to ESPN3.

Think I'm going to the CA gamewatch at Legends so I can watch without paying.

Looks like first row sports has it listed. I won't post the link because I'm not sure on the legality of the site. I don't want to tarnish the pristine CF image

There are no fees associated with ESPN3. This is worked out between your ISP and ESPN. The "membership" to ESPN3 is included in your monthly internet bill if your ISP provides ESPN3.

It is absolutely going to be shown on ESPN3. You just need to click on the 'upcoming' tab to see games that are more than ~1hour in the future. Here is the link for reference.

Watch Live Sports Events and ESPN Programs Online and on Mobile Applications - WatchESPN

I really don't think you are correct. Previous to this year, nearly all ESPNU games were NOT broadcasted on ESPN3 because they were trying to leverage cable companies into adding it to their packages. This year, things have been a mix. All ESPNU games up until this point for ISU HAVE been shown on ESPN3, but when they are shown, it will have a link on the above listed website as an ESPN3 link, not just an ESPNU link. If it was shown tonight, it would actually have both links, whereas tonight only has the one. In order to be able to use the actual ESPNU link, you need to have access to WATCHESPN, which is different than ESPN3 access only a few select cable providers like Time Warner give you this access, and you need cable subscriptions with them, not just internet subscriptions. Plus, all games that have both ESPNU and ESPN3 access have been listed on the cyclones.com preview of each game, and this one only has ESPNU listed, which goes along with my reasoning. If you click on the the What is WatchESPN link at the top of the page, it explains out everything.

I can't think of a better way to understand it. I'll give it another try though.

If you click on the ESPN3 link in one of the posts above you will notice each game has the ESPN provider list next to it. They will have ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, or ESPNU. If it doesn't say ESPN3 beside it, you can't watch that game on ESPN3 without a paid membership.

The reason some were able to watch the OSU game from earlier this year is because the game was posted twice. One for ESPNU and one for ESPN3.

Here's an example:
http://espn.go.com/watchespn/index/_/
Try watching the BC vs. VT game in this link. If you are on campus you won't be able to, I believe. If you're not on campus, my guess is you won't be able to either.

Where is the button on their site for the paid membership? I didn't see that.

As an out of state ISU fan, cheap ba$****, and internet nerd I consider myself an ESPN3 expert.

-You have it if your ISP is a partner, it never costs anything, but you have to have a cooperating internet provider. Providers can change their mind, comcast used to not be a partner, but two years ago became a parter.

-Originally most ESPNU content was not on ESPN3, so the people posting that aren't pulling it out of thin air. Last year most, but not all, ESPNU basketball and football started to appear on ESPN3. This year, as far as I can tell all ESPNU fb and bb games are on ESPN3. It has definitely changed so that's a cause of some confusion.

-Tonight's game is already listed on ESPN3, if your provider cooperates you have it for free online.

Yeah I'm on campus, so I don't pay for my internet. Don't know if that would affect it or not.

Looking at the schedule tonight, the game that immediately follows Baylor-ISU on ESPNU will also be airing on ESPN3, so maybe this is an error on ESPN's part.
