ESPN's Todd McShay pegs David Montgomery and Hakeem Butler as likely "day two guys"

Its possible he goes in the first round, as all it takes is one team to really love him. From everything I have heard teams are very divided on Butler; most teams either have him as one of the top WRs in the draft or as a late round guy.

I haven't heard late round, but I do think that there really isn't a consensus top WR prospect this year; just a lot of good to very good ones. I think Butler lands somewhere in the first two rounds.

BS...Butler is going in the first round, I guarantee it.

It's no lock, but it's a strong possibility. I think he makes sense for the Steelers at 20, the Ravens at 22, or the Colts at 26.

It just sort of depends on when the first WR gets picked. There's a cluster of top prospects at the position without much separation among them and once a couple of them come off the board I think there's going to be a run. I've seen some mocks where the first WR doesn't come off the board until the early 20s and others where the first one is gone within the top ten.

A lot depends on how other positions shake out early in the first as well. If the top ILB prospects are gone then the Steelers are more likely to look at a WR. Same with the top CBs.

It all depends on what a team thinks of a guy. Their scouting reports are sometimes wildly different on the same guys.

Where have you seen him as a 5-7 round pick?

Nowhere. He’ll be drafted in the first three rounds because there are plenty of teams that rate him highly, but it’s not as if that is a consensus opinion. All I was doing was pointing out the vast range of opinions regarding how teams view Butler’s status as a prospect.

Redskins at 15 also. Their biggest need is WR and they have a meeting with Butler scheduled soon. I think they will be the first team to go WR, but I do think Hollywood Brown may fit their offense better seeing that Keenum is more of a short route passer.

The Titans at 19 and Patriots at 32 could be looking to go WR as well. If Butler doesn't go round 1 then I hope Minnesota takes him at #50 if he is available.

Butler will be a first round pick. I’m a little surprised to see Montgomery isn’t a second rounder, I’ve seen him mocked in the third or fourth round.

Id love to see either as a Chief. Montgomery would be the most likely, but could you imagine Butler in that offense!?

Steelers please for DM but I’m afraid they won’t put much emphasis on running backs.
