Loved watching Ejim's development and he had a helluva run. He's gonna be a success anywhere & anything.

Based on Kane's stats coming into season, looked to be a solid addition -- but I didn't dream he have such huge impact.

Thanks for the memories!

I think Fizer's junior year might be how far you have to go back for a better stat line than Kane's. Tinsley might have impacted the game more, but he didn't put up Kane's #s from this year.

I'm really excited to see Niang and Morris together these next few years with the other returning guys and whoever else they bring in. I have a feeling we'll be a killer 3 point team again next year but with true size and length inside for once.

Melvin is everything you want in a college athlete. And it's been a privilege to see him develop on and off the court for the last four years. Truly a Cyclone legend and an example of what college athletics are all about. Cheers to you, Mel.

And DeAndre... what a season! He willed this team on many nights with his determined playing style. Did such a good job pushing Monte and the whole team. I wish we would have had him 4 years, but extremely grateful for this one. Glad he got his chance to dance!

I don't think you couldn't have picked a better player to help Fred build a basketball program over the first 4 years than Ejim. I believe he was one of the rocks that has helped make all the transfers possible.

And with Kane, as one of those transfers, his ability to elevate his game as well as fit in so well, be a real leader and embrace the team and Ames was also extremely impressive.

My biggest fear for next year is replacing the toughness of Ejim and Kane. Thank you to both of them. Kane had an awesome one year as a Cyclone. Ejim was pretty much the perfect four year athlete. Really going to miss his leadership.

Tinsley would be hard to approach for pure point-guard and ball-handling skills, but Kane is a rare combo guard.

Hard to explain this, but his impact for ISU reminded me of a union of Luscious, Royce and Clyburn. It's like Fred found a player who could merge several positive aspects of those three.

It was a privilege to watch Kane this year. I dont know what it was Ames,IA,Hoiberg, teammates. Kane had a problem with 3 pointers and technical fouls at marshal. Hope the best for Kane and Ejim.

Ejim's last made shot was a statement for his career. He wasn't going t go out like that. Still worked his *** off.

Kane- what's to say? The guy took a season to BLEED ISU. Apart from his basketball skills, that's a lot to ask of someone who hasn't grown up in that way. What a warrior.

This is a real hard reality to know these two aren't playing any more.

Both were amazing and both had such great impacts.

It was fun to watch Fred's first 4 year guy finish off getting the type of recognition that he wanted and deserved. If things go as planned and we are seeing Iowa State basketball take off for many years, Mel will kind of be the Barry Stevens of this era. The guy that helped get things off the ground. He's leaving a legacy of winning. Ejim doesn't get enough credit for embracing the transfer philosophy and making it work with so many different personalities. The whole thing could have fallen apart if the 4 year guys don't make it work. It is going to be really, really odd not to see him out there next year.

And DeAndre. It boggles my mind that he was thought of as trouble at Marshall. That kid just wanted to win so badly. Hell, the CBS article tonight really shows that. I often worried about him yelling and arguing with his teammates and about him trying to do too much. But very rarely did any of that happen. Even tonight when he was kind of off, he just kept on trying and working. He was the perfect fit for this team this year. And I am so glad he ended up at Iowa State. Can you imagine what this season would have been like without him? Still fun, but not nearly as much fun.

Thanks for the memories, for the desire and for the dedication. Both players set standards that others will have to meet. I wish both of them well in whatever they do from here on out.
