DSM Reg - Really?

I'll start with my disclaimer: I only get the DSM Reg Thur - Sun.

I see this morning on the back page of the DSM Reg there is a whole page picture of the IA team, tell me this was done for the Cyclones yesterday or earlier this week and if not, DAMN I hate this paper. I wouldn't post if UNI (still be upset), but what school has highest seed, came in 2nd in thier conf and won thier Conf Tourn AND was thee toughest conference undoubtedly this past year, Yes IA State.

On bottom of Page it says: 21-11 Record (12-6 Big Ten, Six Straight Wins to Finish Reg Season, Tied for 3rd in Big Ten

(Interesting to brag about 6 straight wins, but against unranked teams)

Tell me we had same credit in DSM Reg yesterday or earlier this week. Maybe they plan on giving us credit Friday, but IF we were not in earlier this week's editions, why wouldn't you start with us!

...from out of state, I forget how The Gazette showcases so much Iowa stuff over ISU. I suppose it makes sense since Iowa is more local for them, but over Christmas 2013, I had a hard time believing an NIT Final appearance was somehow better than making the 2nd round of the NCAAs on their 'Best of 2013' list.

I appreciate the thread actually. The register is terrible and always will be. But I do think its kind of funny in that no matter how they spin it and I'm sure its killing them ISU is the better basketball program and the readers are taking notice too.

The Gazette isn't a statewide paper. Iowa and UNI will always take precedent over ISU there. Now if the Register had made the NIT run the "best of" story, you'd have a legit beef.
