At the end of the day I do think Drake has some legs to stand on here, if I saw a blue Block D logo on something in Des Moines I would assume it was Drake, although I think they use the script logo more now.

Seems like DMACC is just rebranding to try to look less like a community college.

I struggle to see how the suit holds up over a generic blue/white, generic block 'D' character. Are there going to be a whole bunch of people mistaking Drake for DMACC or something resulting frim this, I mean really?

When I was in Highschool, Wisconsin sued Waukee over use of the logo and we had a huge ordeal of changing the W. It very well might hold.

OK, at first I thought, "really, Drake - it's a pretty non-descript block-style letter. Then you see it and DMACCs is literally the same thing with alternate colors.

This is just another reason why just using a letter as your logo is stupid. Last I checked there are only 26 of them and there are a hell of a lot more schools than that.
