Doomsday Scenario: MWC or AAC?

Assume it happens- the Big Xii is picked apart, and ISU is left behind. Which Conference would be a better fit for the Cyclones: MWC or AAC? Personally, I think the MWC would be better for football, but the AAC with Temple, Cincinnati, SMU, UConn, Memphis, Houston, etc. would be better for basketball.

What say you?

If the Big 12 loses OU and UT, then a new league will form around the remaining core: ISU, K-State, oSu, TCU, Baylor and Tech. I don't believe it happens, but if it did, I see a whole new conference that's back to more contiguous relationships and rivalries. I could care less where WVU ends up. Probably with UCONN. Why they were invited in the first place has always escaped me.

Are we this desperate for a new thread? Trolling maybe?
Not trolling and not desperate.

I am simply concerned about ISU's athletic future, and I do NOT have my head in the sand. Obviously, I hope the Big Xii survives and prospers. However, If it does break up, I hope ISU can land softly in the B1G or the Pac. However, I will not hold my breath. Just curious about which of these two conferences would be most attractive.

Some folks think about football first, and others think about basketball first. That's all.

That is a good third option! However, I assume OU and Texas would each take a team with them (let's assume Okla. State and TT). So, the remaining 6 teams could add Cincinnati and UConn from the East and BYU and Boise State from the West to join with ISU, KU, KSU, TCU, Baylor and WVU for a heckuva 10 member football AND basketball league.

the fact that you use "b1G" to talk about the big 10 and you say you hope Iowa state can land in the big 10 means you are a troll.

In that choice...MWC if other big 12 spare parts go with. AAC if it's just ISU or ISU/Ksu.

B1G is easier to type and makes more sense than Big 10. Not sure why that makes me a troll. Went to my first Cyclone Football Game in 1978 and graduated rom ISU in 1992. So, if it makes you feel better to call me a troll, go for it!

I guess AAC. But is this actually being talked about?
Well, the OU President is kind of making waves these days with his comments. IMO, if the big fish (OU and Texas) really cared about the long-term success of the Big Xii, they would encourage expansion. Either way, if the Big Xii gets raided, which is very possible, ISU will be left in P5 Siberia. Man, I hope I am WRONG!

Please don't feel the need to defend yourself - it's just the "control freaks" on this board who feel they get to decide which topics get discussed - instead of, you know, just ignoring the thread...

We'd be bounced but would the Big12 dissolve or would they just fill our spot with someone with a football team.

Working with this, I can see the TV networks chuckle when that conference comes looking for a deal.

First, we are still at least 8 years away from anything like this possibly happening. Second, I find it funny people talking about what will happen when the television landscape will be so different in 2023. This is a non-event right now.
