I think they were overly ambitious with a fairly reasonable plan that didn’t stand up...when returned students started partying irresponsibly and spiked the COVID numbers. Then the above the curve attendance numbers didn’t stand up toscrutiny. Apparently there wasn’t time to adjust to 25%.

Not sure how you adjust to 5K irresponsible students though.

I hope they have it sorted out by OU.

the fact smaller schools are pulling off fans in the stands is what I don't get on not allowing them here. I could see if it doesn't make a financial stance below that, but then again how are the smaller schools able to then?

How do you know they're pulling it off?

BTW—I can’t get the poll to work on Safari on my iPhone. None of the boxes will check.

I'm not sure but try clicking on your choice then check the poll I never see the click but I think it gets counted. I don't know why it doesn't leave a visible mark.

Health. 14 day rolling period. Until the states residents get their dumbass acts together I don’t think they should be treated to see live football in person.
We didn't take this virus seriously in the beginning so we don't deserve to be able to watch football in person this year. Gatherings like this lead to massive outbreaks. My hours have already been cut because morons refuse to mask up. The ability to earn a living>watching a handful of football games in person.

If I thought having any fans at the game would lead to a massive outbreak I would be against having fans. I just don’t see it leading to a massive outbreak. If there was a massive outbreak from the state baseball tournament we would have heard about. If there were massive outbreaks from the protests we would have heard about them.

If people take precautions I think this can be done safely.

I feel sorry for you that your work has been impacted but for as many idiots are out there spreading the virus there are also plenty of people that are doing all they can. There are plenty that don’t deserve sports but the athletes and main people have done what they are supposed to and deserve to get as normal of an experience as possible.

I voted to have fans. I think it will do little in the way of covid containment to deny fan attendance. If people want to be serious about containing the virus it should have been student attendance at the schools, first and foremost. This is too little, too late. The virus will continue to cycle through the population until we either have an effective vaccine or reach herd immunity.

Last I looked the numbers were declining...until students back on campus decided to hit the bar and parties.

I could be wrong about that.

The numbers were staying pretty consistent before school opened back up. I wouldn’t say they were dramatically going down.

My problem with this perspective is that this is a situation where social distancing can be controlled.

Essentially, providing a tangible reward for doing it the right way. Positive reinforcement.

Yes. Fans should have the opportunity to show whether they can follow the rules laid out by AD. It's an outdoor venue. Seems like it is mainly restaurants and bars where the risk of high spread exists.
