CF formerly had a star-rating system for threads, but people abused it - they would go through and just label all threads by people they didn't like as a 1-star (much like the drive-by negative repping that killed that feature). Due to that, it was discontinued at that time.
I rate this post 1 star.
It's not like those people earned that reputation for making poor posts/threads or anything...CF formerly had a star-rating system for threads, but people abused it - they would go through and just label all threads by people they didn't like as a 1-star (much like the drive-by negative repping that killed that feature). I would so neg rep you if I could...

Most of the time, that's absolutely correct. There were a lot of reports/complaints to the mod team about people ganging up to neg rep them due to some Sharks vs. Jets board thing, or because the content of the rep was questionable, or whatever. It became a huge moderation nightmare.
Yeah but that's why we pay you the big bucks!
I do like that fancy button under my username.
People who spend any amount of time around here know who those people are anyways....regardless of their lack of negative repIt's not like those people earned that reputation for making poor posts/threads or anything...![]()
The one good thing about positive rep is that it allows you to tell someone you agree with them or give them a pat on the back, without filling up threads with useless posts such as "+1" or "agree"Negative rep was the worst. If someone disagreed with you, they'd negative rep you. Horrible concept and it was a wise move to get rid of it. We could get rid of positive rep too for all I care.
