"People close to Rose say he's never watched and studied the game the way he does now, both the detail and the volume of games. He knows the tendencies of half the college point guards in America, from Syracuse's Tyler Ennis to Northwestern's Tre Demps to Iowa State's DeAndre Kane."

Derrick Rose, Chicago Bulls take smarter approach with injury - ESPN Chicago

You should have included that next sentence. "The only point guards he hasn't studied are teams that are rarely televised nationally, like UNLV."

He probably has already studied pro point guards and is now trying to learn more.

Already prepping for his front office job next year when he sprains an ankle and is out for the season. Starting to practice evaluating college talent.

Why is he studying college point guards though? Why not pro point guards?

I would assume that he's preparing for the rookie class. I'd think he's got a pretty solid grasp on the tendencies of guys already in the league.

He should have studied more in HS so he could have taken his own SAT.
