WarnerMedia has layed off 1/3 of their DC Comics staff. A majority of the cuts are people involved with DC Universe, which means its inevitable that the streaming platform is dissolved.

Apparently Alexander Skarsgard is being eyed for the role of Hawkman. Honestly, after watching him in The Legend of Tarzan, I can't think of a better casting. However, I am slightly surprised this isn't a role they go for a POC for. With the character's Egyptian heritage, it would probably make sense to go for someone of African/Middle-East lineage.

Talk about good news Thursday. Ben Affleck is officially coming back as Batman in the upcoming Flash movie. I know some fans are mixed on Ben in the role, but he might be my favorite Batman, so I'm super stoked to see him coming back. He definitely looks the coolest as Batman. Batfleck is back baby!!!

Any idea what's different in the Snyder cut? I have to think they fix Superman's upper lip.

Simple Answer: Quite a bit will be different. For one, Joss Whedon re-shot a ton of the movie for his version, which also is all the scenes with Superman's lip CGI. Therefore, yes, there will be no upper lip bad stuff. Secondly, not counting all the scenes Joss took out and re-shot of Snyder's original stuff, the Snyder cut will be around 4 hours long, whereas the theatrical cut was only 2 hours long, so that automatically means a lot of new content.

Not DC-related, but thought it was worth posting in here as it has to do with a new series in development at the CW:

Sounds like a live-action Powerpuff Girls series is being worked on. The idea is that the “girls” are in their 20s and resent giving up their childhood to fight crime.

The series is being worked on by Diablo Cody (Academy Award winner for Juno & nominee for Young Adult) & Heather Regnier (writer and producer for CW series Veronica Mars & iZombie)

To me, the CW needs to reinvent itself. Its schtick is getting old and tired for me at this point and this is coming from someone who LOVED the Arrowverse early on. On the flip side, I am intrigued by some of the upcoming series coming out of HBO Max eventually. Like what the MCU and Star Wars are doing with Disney+, HBOMax should also be the key to WB's evolving future.

Yeah, I'd agree now would be a good time to catch up on the series for anyone interest for sure. It hard for me to get too gung-ho about recommending any of it too much, as in general, I've found the Arrowverse shows to all be on somewhat of a gradual downward slope over time. I also think their model is just getting tired as well too, which is a network TV model with around 22 episodes, and I've grown to hate that model. With that said, I have not seen the recent seasons yet for any of these, as I usually watch them all together when they drop on Netflix. On the flip side, I am actually pretty excited for the upcoming Superman and Lois TV show coming in January, as I love Superman and I do like Tyler Hoechlan in the role. That is maybe my one Arrowverse positive right now. Plus, I've really enjoyed Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor in Supergirl, so I'm assuming he will cross over. With all that said, again, my vigor for the Arrowverse is very low right now, and I debate each year whether I'm willing to continue the whole shebang, as each series is A LOT of episodes. Anyway, here is my latest Superhero TV rankings to at least give people an idea of which ones I consider better than others. BTW, have I mentioned I really hate Legends of Tomorrow?

How do you put Doom Patrol last? That show is outstanding.

Haha, that show completely perplexes me, as I know there are many people out there who apparently completely love the show. I totally won't deny that. Personally, there hasn't been a show in quite a long time for me more painful to watch than that show. There is no doubt that the tone and goofiness of the show is clearly not hitting with me, while I'm sure it hits with others. But, I've also maybe never been more bored while watching a show as nothing ever seems to happen in the show, like ever. Its clear that they are going for more of an introspective deep delve into each one of the characters throughout the show, but all it came across for me was just trying too hard and it just never worked for me. Its too bad too as I actually really enjoyed Titans, particularly S1, and really enjoyed the Doom Patrol episode of that show which introduced all these characters. It made me excited to watch the show. With that said, its clear the show runners for the solo outing creatively decided to both detach the continuity with these Doom Patrol characters from Titans and also drastically shift the tone of the show. I guess that is their choice to make, so whatever. Its just what they did do just didn't hit with me. However, if you like the show, good on yah man. Again, if it makes you feel any better, I know you are not alone. Probably the closest show I had somewhat similar feelings with was Legion. However, with Legion, I still for the most part enjoyed the show in S1, but S2 completely lost me in some similar ways to Doom Patrol.
