Just finished watching Ironman for the first time, thought it was pretty good. A couple buddies of mine are arguing that it is better than Dark Knight. So instead of arguing with them, I decided to let Cyclone nation decide  So lets hear it, which movie is better?

I kind of like being the lone wolf, at least at this point 6-1 for the crusader. I liked both movies quite a bit but enjoyed Iron Man a lot more.

Your friends are idiots.

I actually have a few beefs with Ironman. Well actually only 1. He never really was Ironman. He fought 1 superbadguy and destroyed a tank as Ironman, wasn't anything special, but would've liked him to be more involved before getting to the climatic scene. Just being nit picky because I think it's a good movie, just think there could've been more bang with Ironman. But the story/s-cript/acting was great so I can't really complain.

Got a dispute? The power of the internets can solve it!!!

Nothing resolves a dispute like soliciting random strangers opinions to prove your point :jimlad:

That said, Dark Knight is so much above Iron Man it's not even funny. Dark Knight takes things to a deeper level than Iron Man does - Iron man is more about the action and the abilities of the character with a superficial story line. Dark Knight had a much more complex story line that incorporated some cool scenese

I agree with CTA but really hope that this was done intentionally to really set up the base line for IM and sell the next one with a deeper story to some extent. It seemed like they left quite a bit out so it can be developed over a longer period of time.

Both billionaire super heroes, but TDK was a better movie, much darker, more complex like what flag guy said.

Also, I hate superhero movies where they wear a mask and they feel like at the end of the film in the climatic scene they have to have the mask ripped off or open just so you can see the actors face. I could care less about the actors face. Especially in the stupid spiderman movies. He just happens to get a grenade in the face and it shreds his mask perfectly so his face is revealed??????? I hate that crap.

I'll agree it was a decent movie and has some potential for a follow up, but I thought this one there wasn't a whole lot of depth to the thing. Dark Knight on the other hand had that so on a whole I'd rate it higher.

Though a Cardinal and Gold outfit is hard to argue with

It's almost painful having to decide between two great movies. I think Iron Man was more fun to watch, but The Dark Knight was one of the best movies ever made. Iron Man is one I could watch over and over because it is simple and entertaining. The Dark Knight is one of those amazing movies that you wouldn't want to watch over and over because it's so long and there are so many things to take in. As much as I hate not voting for Iron Man, I would feel guilty not voting for The Dark Knight. I have to give The Dark Knight the edge because it is all around one of the most well made movies I've ever seen.

Spiderman shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as The Dark Knight. The first two were alright, but the third one was comical, and not in a way that was intended. Hopefully the fourth one will be better, but I do not have high hopes

Yeah I have to agree with the Spiderman thing. I did not care for the 3rd one at all... we'll see about number 4

The Dark Knight is a better movie by leaps and bounds, I understand that. I just felt that Iron Man was a much more enjoyable movie to watch.

Summer fun movie - Ironman - loved Downey Jr's character.
Oscar-hype movie - The Dark Night

I believe however that TDN would not be nearly as well received had not Heath Ledger hit a home run/grand slam as the Joker. He really made the movie great to me. Otherwise, not much different than Batman Begins, which I also enjoyed very much.

I liked them both equally for different reasons. DK is good but massively overrated by it's fanbase.

I liked Dark Knight a little better, but walked away thinking it was a lot like the Mission Impossible movies. Way more about the special effects than the story. The Joker was a good bad guy, but the whole thing about blowing up the hospital and the 5000 gallons of gas on the two ferries was just plain stupid. Ya, no one would notice anyone hauling all those 55 gallon drums into the engine room of a ferry, or someone setting up 30 bombs in a hospital. How about the beating the joker takes that never seem to phase him? As far as I know he wasn't suppose to have powers or anything.

While Ironman was entertaining, I have to give it to The Dark Knight. It was easily the best superhero movie ever made.:notworthy:
