Coaching is a "sell out' profession (just like all other professions, to be perfectly honest)

Why would you want to work harder to achieve less results and get paid less?

You wouldn't. You're only saying Cael should have stayed because you're an ISU fan. ISU steals coaches all the time, and they are not sell outs, they are making business decisions. And cael clearly made the correct decsion.

Lets just worry about Iowa State. Coaches and athletes will come and go, but the cyclones will not.

Penn State offered him $1,000,000 do coach in the premier wrestling conference and in a hotbead of high school wrestling where he will have lesser competitiion for recruits tahn ISU who competes with Iowa.

We probably will never know the exact figures, but JP has said publicly that Cael didn't even give him the chance to make a counter-offer, which tells me it wasn't about salary at least.

Iowa State claims it was not given the chance to counter offer Penn State's deal. Several members of the athletic department tried to talk Sanderson out of accepting Penn State's offer, but were unsuccessful. They say Sanderson will try to take some of his Iowa State wrestlers with him to Penn State.

The Cap Timm Society isn't so sure about that...

Criner did damage to ISU in which we are still trying to recover from . . . Ken Trickey and Lynn Nance did wonders for our BB program . . Bruce left ISU just as we were getting a legacy started in FB . . that didn't hurt ISU at all did it? Or do I need to remind you about Criner again? So many ISU examples exist which prove you are absolutely clueless about how coaches coming or going have INDEED HURT and not helped ISU. We weren't going to be Gabled again . . so our AD hired Sanderson and fired a pretty decent coach. Sanderson left ISU in a world of hurt that we many never fully recover from. So . . dahh . . we worry about ISU and our coaches . . with good reason.
