Is Burton out of basketball now? I know he's out of the NBA, but wasn't sure if he was anywhere else.
Yes, he didn't get an overseas contract or a G League one, it seems. The fact that no one has called him up during this COVID crisis probably shows that NBA teams saw enough of his skill set. I hope next year, he can get a good contract overseas or he may be done with pro hoops.
I spoke too soon. It seems that recently DB30 has signed with the Maine Celtics of the G League. He has not appeared in their 1st 14 games - which include their "showcase" - and they've had 5 recent call-ups to the NBA and he was not on their opening day roster. So, I suspect that he's a recent signing due to all the guys getting pulled up to the NBA due to all the COVID protocols happening. I didn't find an announcement of his signing.
The G League resumes on JAN 5 - delayed from DEC 27 - so let's hope Deonte finds his stroke. He really shot the long ball at a low percentage his last season in OKC.

A good late match-up between LA Lakers and the Kings, with King James and company taking the W, 122-114. The Cyclone that we would've guessed to lead in scoring was NOT, Tyrese Haliburton.
Hali contributed, as always, but was a little cold from the field, shooting 3-10 / 1-5 for 7 PT with 9 AST.
THT continues to come off the bench but made a big contribution this time with 19 PT on 9-13 / 1-2 shooting.

Georges with 8 points, 6 boards, 1 assist and a +28. Must be his infamous defense? I suppose he has just been hitting good moments with both first and second units.
I'd seen a number of reports saying that Monte would be out for Denver's game last night but he cleared protocol in time to play. It was his first game of the season coming off the bench but after going 1-4 with 3 points in the 1st half, unlike his Cyclone brethren, he got hot in the 2nd.
Monte's final line: 29 MIN, 20 PT, 7-13 FG, 5-9 3PT, 1 REB, 2 AST, 1 STL and 2 TO.
The short-handed Nuggets lost to the short-handed Jazz by 6.
The Sixers climbed to 5 games over .500 with this one. Georges help-side D is under-rated. He's been a consistent guy this season and they love him in Philly. His one 3 of the night:

With his next bucket, Georges will hit 1500 in points the NBA for his career (regular season only). Keep in mind that in his 1st 2 seasons, he only scored a total of 30.

I think he is actually considered a + defender in the NBA. Last year he had some top 5 stat at one point for opponent's shooting % when he was the primary on ball defender. I think people thought it was fluky, but he has proven to be tough again this year.
I think a lot of the bad rep he got on defense here was he was often defending a way bigger five or just letting things go a bit because we had to keep him on the floor for offense. Also foot speed has improved with weight loss and training.
