My name is Daniel and I run Memphis AAF which is a blog/podcast dedicated to the Memphis team. I conducted that interview with Jacob so I thought I would come on here and clear up a few things.

Jacob was never signed to Memphis or any AAF team. He came on the show hoping for a shot and to get exposure. Unfortunately, things didn't work out and he didn't make a team.

He's currently weighing his options in hopes of making a team.

Yeah. Training camp started on the 4th in San Antonio. All teams are there but practicing at different locations. They have a couple scrimmages towards the end of camp and each team will have a pre-season game on the 26th or 27th.

The season starts February 9th, the Saturday after the Superbowl.

I saw that teams have certain colleges assigned to them. Does ISU have a connection with a certain team?

Nope. ISU is considered unallocated. Stage 1 is college. If a player's college isn't allocated then it would be based on where they played professionally in the NFL or CFL. If the player didn't play professionally then they are free to sign with any team.

Seems like these leagues have the potential to be a bridge between high school and the NFL. There's a lot of kids that don't belong in college and this could be a good opportunity to give these guys a platform to prepare for the NFL.
