Maybe I am completely oblivious, but this is the first time that I have seen the site symbol in the address box next to the URL. That is pretty cool.

On the otherhand, can football get here any sooner...if I am commenting about the symbol in the URL it's time for football.

Anyways thats cool Jeremy...even if it's not new!

Hey Jeremy - I'm thinking about doing something similar on a Website that I manage. First, what program did you use to create the icon, and second, is it a standard 32x32 pix icon or a 16x16?

I noticed the new logo in the URL box and in the Firefox favorites after the latest server move. Before that, it was a small CF I think.

Yup, just a standard 16x16 favicon.ico image. I actually have an animated one but left it off so I didn't annoy anybody with a rotating gif.

On a similar note, you might not see it right away if you use IE as it's pretty antiquated when it comes to handling favicons and doesn't always pick them up due to caching and "stuff".

I actually have Firefox 2 installed, but I'm not getting it on my favorites bar (only the URL box). FF used to do some funky stuff with pages that didn't have favicons, and so for quite a while, my CF favorites button has had the favicon of another site. But now, even after CF has its own icon, I can't get it to show up. Even deleting the bookmark and re-adding it doesn't do it. Ideas?
