Crowd wearing yellow for akron game

Wife went and picked me up a yellow one at Barefoot last night. The cashier said it was just really sad with all the people buying yellow attire. Even though they are making money, she put the whole situation over making money. Even though it will be pretty subdued at pregame and the honors she would have received at this weeks game, I am looking forward to seeing people come together with yellow attire and hopefully make the stadium glow in a sea of yellow. Heck at worst go to walmart and buy a plain yellow shirt that costs $5.

Hell I can't even find that at Wal-Mart right now. In the past 2 days I have been to 2 Wal-Marts, a Target, a Kohls, and Scheels and only yellow I found in anything was women's or long sleeved. I think I may have one buried somewhere at home but friend that sits next to me needs one still.

If anyone gets a lead on something in the Des Moines area post it here.

Just a heads up but I was at Scheels yesterday and they were pretty much cleaned out of all of their gold merch.

I bought a nice gold Under Armor t shirt there yesterday. There was a display of them by the cash registers.

Yea, I hope no one gets too upset if there is still a lot of cardinal or other colors. The majority of ISU fans are not on CF and likely do not follow some of the Twitter traffic. As I noted earlier, the AD office did mention getting to the seats early, but did not mention yellow shirts in the game email that went out to season ticket holders.

Strawberry Patch in Ankeny has a good selection on CBA shirts and numerous other yellow/gold options. I made the mistake of first going to the State Street location which is not their retail store so go to the Ankeny Blvd location next to Benchwarmers. FWIW I also saw gold shirts at the north HyVee (not CBA)

Anyone else find it odd how much team gear is worn on a day-to-day basis? I've noticed it in other college-centric locales, but there are shirts and logos everywhere in Iowa. People in the south do this as well. I have 2-3 Iowa State shirts/sweatshirts. I wear them on gamedays and that's about it.

Pretty much 85% of my wardrobe is team gear. I wear it because it's comfortable and I'm proud to be a fan.

I would say 1/4 of my closet is ISU gear. Between football and basketball season tickets you need a variety of tshirts, long sleeve, sweatshirts, etc. Hell I'll pack 10 different ISU shirts for KC alone depending on the weather
