I'm fairly new to the site and was wondering how the credits work. Are they rewarded for posting, commenting etc.? And are they good for anything or more of a fun thing to keep track of involvment on the board?

Thanks a lot, I appreciate the info

You are given some more every post you make.
They are like monopoly money, its all fun and games.

they don't do this anymore, but you used to be able to buy stuff with your credits. I wish they would start that up again. Also welcome aboard.

Basically, they accumulate after posting, and disappear after betting.

Then you can show that you have a problem, and ask for more.

For practical purposes, they're good for showing that putting real money on this stuff is a bad idea for several reasons, especially the losing.

There was a system 2 (3?) years ago, but I have no idea what it's degraded to. Basically, you get credits for posting, starting threads, polls, having your thread replied to (you're welcome), rep, PM's, daily activity, etc. There was also something called CyCash briefly, as well as a credit "bank and loan". I believe there was a scheme to have credits/CyCash redeemable at the CF Store (when there was one), but that fell by the wayside. There'd likely have to be some major normalization for that to be implemented again...

So basically, yes. Monopoly money to use on CyBookie.

Thank you so much for the credits that don't mean anything, it's greatly appreciated! :jimlad:

Your credit total is now 10,764. It increased a whopping 6 credits! And after this post, another 6! You're welcome!

Well, now they went to 10,771. So this time they increased by 7... Ok, one more time, lets see how many, I'm guessing 8.

Nope, this time you only got 3 more credits to bring the grand total to 10,774. I'm confused, I'm done.
