Thought it would be interesting to take a look at each individual computer ranking as they were made available (keep in mind some don't become available until Monday). I personally enjoy the idea of computer ratings as they have unbiased opinions based upon week-to-week results and fictional opinions.

Sagarin Ratings

1) LSU
2) Alabama
3) Oklahoma State
4) Arkansas
5) Kansas State
6) Oklahoma
7) Baylor
8) South Carolina
9) Oregon
10) Boise State

12) Texas A&M
16) Missouri
17) Texas
20) Iowa State
30) Texas Tech

This is why I think OSU still has a shot at the title game. The computers love the Big 12 and as long as enough of the human voters balk at an all-SEC championship OSU is still in play.

the BCS computer rankings cannot use margin of victory.

20 is what sagarin has us in his ranking for the BCS computers.

29 is what we are in his overall ranking that takes margin of victory into account.

actually he has us at 49th. 29 is the average between rating using margin of victory and not using it.

i can't believe Kansas St doesn't get more respect from the human polls (15th in both). they are kicking *** in the computers (5th)

Agreed, their average computer rank is 5.7 (5-5-5-5-5-9) and in the BCS thread I noted that the human polls appear to have a bias of 5.3 positions when compared to the computers.

Still awaiting the Massey Ratings to finish up the entire computer rankings and get a finalized computer average but it would appear it is safe to say in the eyes of the computers the Big 12 has eight teams in the Top 30.

It's because their jersey doesn't say Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska, Ohio State, Michigan, Florida, etc on it.

If ISU's jersey said Oklahoma on it, given our record we'd probably make it into the top 25 easily. But since it says ISU, it must be a fluke win, so we don't deserve to enter the top 25. Just as such, K-State will always be K-State, and they don't win with enough flare, so people won't vote them up in the polls even though they've had a damn good season in a grinder of a conference.

Just for the record I don't believe we deserve to be in the Top 25 yet, but if we were a traditional powerhouse with the same performance we would easily be in the top 25, even if we didn't deserve it.

Just look at 6-4 #25 Texas. Losing yesterday on their home turf. Only fell 3 spots!

In regards to the BCS standings the human polls actually dropped them pretty good, they only have 1 vote in USA Today while 9 in Harris. But, the computer ranks they are still a Top 25 team (21.8 overall average & a 19.6 average by BCS standards). They aren't in the BCS top 25 because of the humans, they are there because of the computers.
