You're looking at anywhere from $6-$8 depending on how much it weighs. I'm guessing it weighs no more than 40 pounds. Certificate of Recycling is included when you drop at our site.
I just moved and had this dilemma. I took all my stuff to here:
www.ewasterecycle.com
Click on the DSM facility, then on the map. Very helpful and friendly. They took 2 monitors, 3 towers, and also all my old peripherals. Most of it for free. It is just north of Sam's Club in DSM. Go up to University, then take a left (west). It is only a block or two, then turn left again (south). Facility is behind the first building, it is a seperate back building. Hope this helps.
A couple of years ago, Goodwill started to accept any computer in any condition. If they meet certain criteria, they are refreshed and sold. Otherwise, they are recycled. I cleaned out a closet with four computers in various conditions with no problem over the past couple of years.
If you don't want anything for it, any best buy will recycle it for free.Anybody know where to take them in Ames?
