More infor on Sturdy's QBs. Apparently some QBs throw the back shoulder with a lot of zip (so I just threw it as hard as I could to the back shoulder and just hoped Marquess could make a play for me") http://www.cougcenter.com/2011/11/25/2586624/todd-sturdy-wsu-football-offensive-coordinator-connor-halliday

I just looked back at WSU's output during Sturdy's time there (2008 - 20011). It looks like the years that the Cougar's SOS was in the top half of the FBS, they had terrible offenses. Like ranked 100+ in Scoring Offense, Total Offense and Passing Offense. In 2011 they had some very good offensive output, but their SOS was 83rd. The advanced stats at Football Outsiders mirrors this - when they played good teams they didn't do very well, and when the played bad teams, well, they were playing bad teams.

I doubt you see big changes like looking to the sidelines every play. Too little time for big philosophy changes, just using what they've already learned a little differently.

I watched almost all of Washington State's games when Sturdy was OC there and early in his tenure their offensive lines and defense were horrible. Once they solidified their Offensive line his offense ranked 12th in the nation.

Here are the NCAA rankings. Of course it's some combination of WSU getting better and their schedule being easy. But I don't think you can say schedule had nothing to do with it. I'm reserving judgement on Sturdy until I see a couple of games.

There will be a few changes especially for KSU and OU since Mangino is close to those programs and can give them "tips" about formations and alignments.

That is an interesting twist to the game planning. Let's hope his flight out of town wasn't straight to Texas.

Tried to find some more out about Mangino's offensive philosophy prior to ISU. This pieced didn't look much like what was on the field, http://www.1430kasi.com/onair/dave-sprau-6283/mind-of-mangino-11960449/

I doubt Snyder and Stoops need some super secret "inside scoop" on how to beat ISU from MM to get the advantage.

They probably don't need it but they won't turn away information.

We had a walkon fullback transfer to ISU from Nebraska when I was playing and he brought his playbook with him. It didn't help us but it was interesting and appreciated.
