Maybe he has a disdain for cold weather or saw an easier path to playing time.

Regardless, it once again illustrates the folly of the 100% accuracy rating for the so called "lead experts" at 247. Interesting that they're not yet showing him as committed as they did with Avery Henry.

I guess I’m on the page of “don’t be a **** about a high school kid choosing where he wants to go to school” not matter what the expectations are.

Is anyone really acting like a ****?

I see both sides of it. While I'm not a fan of someone who doesn't keep their word, we have to remember that these are young kids under a lot of pressure which don't know what they don't know.

In the case of the kids this staff is recruiting, and how open and candid they are without being super high pressure, (like the puke in MN) it's a bit disheartening when they don't keep their word. If we placed unreasonable pressure on him and he backed out, that would be one thing. But we didn't. Was he keeping us on the hook to protect the spot in case he didn't like Cal? If so, he deserves some criticism, regardless of age.

Like I said, I see both sides of it.

Recruits owe us nothing.

Never said they did. We don't owe them anything either. The question is whether or not they should be exempt from criticism. And like I said, I see both sides of it.
The comment wasn’t that bad and it was the truth, but I like to be supportive of these kids, unless they go to Iowa. They’re trying to do what they believe is best for their future. It does bum me out when they give us their word on a commitment, but that’s just called the recruiting process. Minds change, people change.

This implies differently. If he is waiting for Cal and wants to “keep us on the hook” then so be it. He owes us nothing.

How did he not keep his word?
