If the defense hadn't given up long scoring drives when a stop was needed in the two losses I'd agree with you.

But they did. So I don't...although the offensive awfulness is a problem.

If it was said we'd only score 21 points in a Big12 game how many times would you expect a win?

Defense has its issues, but the glaring flaws on offense and the kicking game are the real hole for this team.

We are more talented on each side of the ball than Baylor. What you want to take from that is up to you.

It's funny though in the threads leading up to this game, it was like a love fest with that rat ******* coach of theirs and how much better he has made them.

So they are great players and great coaches before the game, but the second we lose a close one on the road, they all suck, right?

I would expect that with a good defense, ISU can go 8-4 with this schedule.

I would expect with a good defense, and a late lead, ISU can not let a QB run for a first down on 3rd and 9 and then chip their way down the field for a field goal.

We blitzed a number of times on Baylor's last drive...
The blitzes were completely different in nature. Rhule's was risky; he sold out and sent the house right up the middle. Baylor overpowered ISU and sealed the victory.

Generally, ISU's blitzes on that last drive were "safe". They left coverage mostly intact and sent a couple of guys trying pick their way through some holes in the defense. IMO, the ISU blitzes really didn't pressure the BU blocking scheme, and as such, weren't particularly effective.

How anyone can blame the two losses on the defense is beyond me.

Not blaming it...it's just not being seen for being as leaky as it actually is, which is odd.

Has ISU given up late scoring drives in its two losses soon after gaining the lead?

Make that missed field goal and we’re the most incredibly coached team that won through grit and toughness.

We’ll be fine.

That blocked field goal was a doozy though. I figured he'd miss it. Baylor just spared us the misery.

Maybe i missed the latest batch of worship by Register kool-ade, but is the O-Line good or bad?

"The good news is the offensive line is all returning. The bad news is the.............".

Why do recruits come in at a certain level, and never get better?

There are some posters who flip/flop like this. Mostly the negative Nellie's get really active after a loss and the positive Pete's get really active after a win. I never view our fan base according to mere volume of posts of one sort or another, especially right after a tough loss. The number of our fans who turn so negative after a tough loss is disappointing.
