Clear Lake Kite Festival

Taking two 7 YO kids to Clear Lake Kite Festival this Saturday. Never been there before. Does anybody have any tips/advice/hacks regarding parking, food, can't miss events, etc ? My wife found a cool video of a bunch of kites making a moving horse but could not tell how old it was. Anyone seen that in person?

I grew up in CL, but that was before the Kite Festival was a thing. I think I've been in town once for it, but it was really cold. It's supposed to be warm this weekend, hopefully the ice isn't too slushy.

I don't think parking should be an issue, there's enough room and lots of neat shops / restaurants around City Park.

Went a couple years ago.
Where boots. If sunny and warm, should be a lot of fun to just walk around and look.
We went to the Okoboji kite festival a couple weeks ago. Grab a beer and enjoy!
Kids will love it if the weather is nice

They will be on city beach just off city park. Few places to walk around and grab lunch or even supper. Sometimes cancelled due to massive wind ironically.
