I honestly like DG at the 2 and Christopherson on the bench. I think we can use Colvin's energy from the outset of the game. We were really sluggish at the start of the game and the start of the second half. I guess I would try to combat that problem and have him in there to energize the team. I would like to see us at least experiment with Colvin starting and DG at the 2 in the next game. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. But I would rather us try.

I'm all about trying something. We badly need to get off to better starts, and the Garrett/Colvin combination seems to click pretty well.

anyone else see when he could have went for the steal but instead started complaining to the ref?

Yeah, I am not sure what happened, but I am guessing he had the steal, thought he got fouled and by then the other player had the ball or a clear shot at it.

From what I saw, he tried to run after it but was held (and I thought somewhat clearly) by the CU defender.

Yeah that's what happened but that doesn't mean you quit on the play and go cry to the ref..

speaking of refs, why the hell did that one ref stall the free throw and walk all the way over to coach mac (who wasnt even doing anything) and get all up in his face? that was weird and seemed like an overreaction

It took Mac a while to get him settled down, but when he did, he made some great plays. One that people may not have noticed was where he applied defensive pressure the entire length of the floor which led to a bad pass and a Brackins steal.

The thing that he adds to the game is that he is enough of an offensive threat to respect, which really opens things up. Seemed to get the ball to the right spot on the floor to be able to feed Craig effectively.

Mac probably just wanted an explanation on the foul..would've loved to see a little more fire from him when the ref ran over to him like that though

Colvin is by far the best at driving to the hoop and then dishing the ball to a wide open CB or Hamilton for a dunk/layup. He should play no less than DG.

Colvin played 23 minutes tonight, which is about right in my opinion. He should get ~25 minutes a game from here out, I don't care whether he starts or not.

He made Brackins look even that much better tonight with some nice passes for easy scores.

correct. he also made craig look foolish once because he wasnt expecting the pass (about 4 mins left in 2nd half) that craig couldve slammed home. chris brings another level of assisting to the floor that i dont think we have seen in a while. either way, craig wasnt ready to see recieve a pass on that particular play.

Sad commentary, but Brackins wasn't ready for that pass because DG isn't capable of setting him up like that! One things for certain, the more time Colvin spends on the court, the fewer times we'll see "bigs" surprised in that manner - they'll be expecting the ball in their hands!

I love Colvin's quickness. It's long driven me nuts how easily DG gets out of position when his responsibility runs him off a couple screens. Last night Colvin trails his guy around a pair of screens and hits the last one like a WR coming out of his break, almost beating the guy to the pass on the wing and ending up in perfect defensive position. I know it's just "flashes of brilliance" at this point, but WOW at the athleticism. Some people on this board are predicting his departure - I hope they're mistaken...

I know, I was waiting for Mac to clothesline him when he came running over.
