I think it's pretty overrated. Don't get me wrong, it's decent, but to me the sandwiches taste like any other chicken sandwich from Burger King, Wendy's, etc.

I actually don't like their sandwiches at all. And I don't like their fries. However, their nuggets are incredible.

Chik fil A is nothing special. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there.

"Oh Danny, That's alll I neeed...." Looks like my weight problem is going to be in real jeopardy now. Wish they would build it outside of the traffic jam of South Ankeny.

My buddy went on a diet that included Chik-fil-a for lunch. Just get the broiled sandwich with the fruit cup and it is not bad at all. He lost a lot of weight that way.

It's the newness or 'want what I can't have when I want it' factor. Chick fil a is relatively new to Iowa and will be very popular but some will get used to having it around whenever they want it. I compare it to In-N-Out Burger. I had it a couple of times in Cali visiting and would rave about how awesome it is and how I wish it was in the Midwest. Then I moved to Cali and one was less than a mile from me. After a while it wasn't all that great. I actually think In-N-Out is very overrated after living there. Many Californians agree.

Last week, I saw the new owner of the West Ames McDonalds

... driving a car with Iowa Hawkeye license plates.

Thus, I went to Burger King tonight.

Why did the Chick-fil-A in the Union close? Was it doing poorly, or were there other factors involved? In the late '90s, I ate there a lot.

After I moved out of the dorms I ate at Chick-fil-A in the union or the original tiny Battles BBQ pretty much every weekday for lunch circa '98-'01.

The #4 meal begs to differ.

Your burger chain analogy doesn't stand up - how many hamburger chains are there? How many chicken sandwich chains are there?

I am not saying it is about how many people eat burgers or love fast food. Nothing to do with that. But how many people do you hear say 'oh my ******* god i ******* love McDonald's! It's the best ******* burger!' You DO hear raves like that about food places that people don't have access to like McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's. Culvers used to be similar to how Chick Fil A and In-N-Out get the 'omg it's sooooo good' comments but now they are way more prevalent and you don't hear it as much.

From my understanding, they're doing this to all the McDonald's to bring them into their new concept. The one on Merle Hay (closest to I/38/I80 was done about year ago...the other one a bit futher down the road closer to the mall is scheduled soon.)

I dont know if theyre demolishing it or just remodeling the existing structure, but something is soon on the one on jordan creek parkway as well

I would disagree, mostly because i think BK's chicken is awful.

Chik-fil-A is awesome. Prob the only reason Westdale Mall in Cedar Rapids hasn't shut down. That place has been there forever.
