Did you not know he's the son of Terry Allen? Former assistant under McCarney, assistant at UNI, Kansas Head Coach and Missouri State HC.

Chase was in Ames until 3rd grade.

Not a dumb question. I think he will probably redshirt and add some weight. Not sure what Campbell thinks of chandler yet.

As a coach's kid, he probably is better informed of the advantages/disadvantages of this than most.

Depends on Shaffner. If he is better than him, he'll probably have to play. I would guess he redshirts though.

Not everyone A.) Remembers every coach ever at Iowa State, especially assistants or B.) Knows the names of the kids of those coaches

I also was intrigued by the old family photo and could reasonably assume his dad was involved with the program at some point, but wasn't positive.
