Can someone explain what the "subscription threads" is all about? I noticed it as an option on the left side of the screen after clicking on "User CP". Also there's "blog subscriptions" and a "list subscriptions" option. When I click them the folders are empty. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

You can subscribe to threads, I have subscribed to some threads where people make predictions - including myself, I'm going to be curious to see how we all end up.

Do you have to pay for the service to be a subscriber? How do you go about "subscribing" to threads. Thanks!

Subscriptions to threads are free. They show up in your "User CP" area whenever a new post is added to the thread. You can also get regular e-mail messages sent to your inbox to update you on recent activity in the thread. It's a good way to follow a thread you're interested in, especially if more recent posts in other threads have bumped it off the front page.

subscribing to a thread doesn't cost anything. I think it just gives you options of getting emailed or pm'd when new posts occur in the thread. And kinda acts as a favorites thing as well. I'm pretty sure that's all it is... but then again.. I've never really used the feature.

You can even subscribe to an entire forum for free - for example, you can elect to be e-mailed or alerted in your User CP every time someone posts in the College Basketball forum.

To do this, simply go to the forum to which you would like to subscribe using the Site Navigation toolbar. Select "Subscribe to this forum" in the User Options.

I have a number of old threads I subscribe to. I really look at it not as a subscription, but a way to bookmark threads for viewing later.

A nice thing, if you subscribe to a thread and someone responds to it, it will display on your User CP page.
