I listened to this last night and this morning I woke up sick as **** and stayed home from work. Coincidence?

Uh... I have never met, spoken to, or followed Jon on Twitter so I have no idea. I know he said he works in commodities on the podcast.
I ask because I'm not sure I can even place Jon and Chris on the same career pedastal. Chris always comes off as professional, knowledgeable of the sports/events he's talking about, generally fair in assessments of teams... Meanwhile, Miller is a walking bait machine. That's pretty garbage journalism. Miller comes off like he has no sense of objectivity or a heightened knowledge of the sport whatsoever, he's just a talking-point parrot, not that different from the average fan.

If that's his goal, then I guess he's succeeding, but that's definitely not what I would view as a victory in life. We have one guy wanting to talk football, and the other guy just wants to talk about the Super Bowl and a game time clock mounted on a wall and how serious-business that is.

Glad this sparked some conversation.

I do think that Jon and I are on very different career paths and have different goals. I poke the bear once in a while (especially this week) but I'm in media full-time. It's how I feed my daughter.

Jon does this for fun now. He's moved on from the game - doesn't even live in the state anymore.

Hope that makes sense. Regardless, thanks for listening and for those who didn't care for it, we are obviously going to have much more of our regular CF-only podcasts later in the week.

Clearly, by "game" you don't mean being a disgusting, giant hairy doucheb@g.

You guys played right into Jon’s hands by letting this thread reach five pages of (mostly) complaints. I’m honestly impressed with the amount of petty in this thread.

No I'm not really getting that vibe. If 5 pages of calling out JM for the ******* he is, is playing into his hand then he plays a pretty ****** up hand.

What, didn't he make it a week or so?
It's really quite sad. His niche is his dislike for ISU, but butthurt doesn't work well past the tavernhawk level. I wish him well in whatever he's been reduced to try as a profession.

I liked Jon's old KXNO show years ago. I have seen him with his family in Panera. (never approached him to talk trash, as thats just weird)

This is the first time I've listened to him in years. Thankfully I don't have to do that every day. Worn out, arrogant, for no reason, tone. His takes are tired. Maybe pick another Hawk guy to join your next dual podcast. One that actually wants the game to happen. I mean not wanting a major, in state, rivalry game, to happen is something a college football fan would not say.

Well he is a Southern Illinois grad, so tavernhawk by definition.
