Less than desirable circumstances aside, Grill’s dismissal led to an iconic Otz game when he decided “eff it, literally everyone’s playing” at #7 Baylor… and they absolutely crushed them!

Why was Grill kicked off the team?

As I remember, there were actions that couldn't be remedied. Maybe screaming at coaches or teammates or a fight or something like that. I think just basically destroying team chemistry.

It sounded like major anxiety issues and I think Grill even admitted as much. I think it was somewhat mutual and the staff and Iowa State helped him out with the mental side of things (maybe medical support/counseling, that stuff is private so who knows), so its not like they threw him to the curb because of it.

Watching Grill play right now with the old school Missouri jerseys makes me miss playing them twice a year. Those were some good matchups. Definitely miss playing them in football too.
I always thought those jerseys were blatant rip-offs of Michigan's, although I guess I'm not 100% sure I know which school used them first.

That’s when all the jerseys were made by the same company. So they both probably had the same designer. They didn’t used to have Nike schools and adidas schools .

As Waukee discovered Wisconsin copyrighted the letter W. However I believe Mizzou was wearing those unis in the 80s.

My ideal 16 team Big 12 would bring Missouri, Oklahoma, and Nebraska back and remove the 3 eastern schools. The Big 8 schools plus the Arizona, Utah, and current 4 Texas schools would be great. Oh well, maybe things will get more regional again someday.
