Just like you will always see packer jerseys at US Bank stadium at every vikings home game. I never understand why they do that. Superiority complex issue?
I see this with lots of teams at all stadiums I visit when it comes to NFL. I think a lot of NFL fans are just happy to go to an NFL game. I'm willing to give the NFL fans a pass, but not these ridiculous Iowa fans that show up to our games and my game watches in Denver (when there are like a dozen Big10 watch bars)

Are the majority of Utah fans not LDS? I guess I just assumed since Utah as a state is heavily mormon that there was a large number of mormons that were Utah fans.
There might be some but Utah as a school is way different. At least when it comes to drinking and tailgating. Utah State is more like BYU but perhaps a bit more BYU light. We tailgated there with a few people and in a lot right next to the stadium. Utah was getting after it on a Friday night when we went there. Good times were had at all 3 stadiums if I say so myself.

Not as many are LDS as you would think. BYU in Provo is 95% Mormon, plus there are campuses in Hawaii and Idaho so those draw a lot of LDS kids.

The non-LDS kids would tend to go to state schools more. This site says the U of U is about 35% Mormon. (3) What percent of Mormons are at the University of Utah? - Quora

In addition to attending to ISU and transferring to BYU as an undergrad, I got my master's from the U of U.

But I was married, owned a house and just commuted for the classes. It was much less of a "college" experience vs a "job", so I don't really feel a tie to their athletics program. I personally didn't experience much, if any antagonism, toward LDS people. Which is a credit to the U. Maybe sports are different.

Edit: Apologies to Dr. Wardell. He was a great and definitely the most "Mormon" professor I had at the U. And a huge Utah sports fan. It just never stuck with me.

There was a weird A&M fan at the Kansas game a couple weeks ago with a super expensive Aggie jersey on.

How could you tell it was super expensive? I have a couple jerseys from DHGate - they look pretty nice IMO, but let me tell ya they were NOT expensive lol.

Not exactly sure.
Rather than 'they,' might it have been one or two renegades rather than BYU fans at large? I don't know. I'm asking.
Probably the same two that had the sign at the football game saying, win or lose, at least we don’t live in Iowa.

Biggest and loudest student section ive ever seen, maybe I already said that, but its worth repeating. At least 3x the numbers of the ISU section. Its cool that they devote that many seats to students, and that they all get filled up.
Are they good jumpers?

Just my opinion as a fan that has been to many CSU/BYU basketball and football game (I live in Fort Collins)…within a couple of years BYU will be the most hated team in the Big 12.

I’ll start off by saying that I love seeing the anecdotes here about the kindness of BYU fans, and certainly the fans who have been posting here have represented the university well. The BYUtv special they did for Jack Trice was also S-tier.

But based on what I’ve heard from close relatives who have spent substantial time living in Utah, I wouldn’t be surprised if you’re right. Again, no offense meant to the people here, you all have been great. Just some weird juju out there that seems to have chased some people I know out of what is undeniably a gorgeous area of the country.

Watched on TV, liked the blue lights! Also, loved the black uniforms with the blue accent! Wish we’d try doing the same with our blacks with red accents.
Same. I watched on TV. Those uniforms really looked good. Based on the comments here, I will try and make the next one.

If I was in the area I'd consider buying a ticket in the visitor section to every game they play. Brownies, ice cream, cougar tail donuts? Yes, please.

I guess a buddy of mine invited me to a Pittsburg-Green bay game at Lambeau a couple years ago and I wore my Bears jersey, but that was specifically to troll. We had seats behind the goal post and I got on TV. Nothing like 80k people booing you specifically!

When I tailgate Badger games I wear my ISU stuff, but that's just tailgating. Gives me a good opportunity to hate on Iowa with Badger fans. I guess I represent my teams and don't worry about it too much. There was some Hawkeye twitter account freaking out about the fact someone wore an ISU shirt that said 'Beat Iowa' to their Wisconsin game...told the guy to rest in piss or something. Delusional.

I think the only time it's completely "out of bounds" to where a completely unaffiliated jersey is when it's a team/player that is equally hated by both teams. Nothing says "kick my ass" more than that.

In going to Bears/Vikings games at the dome routinely in the 90s there was always (at least) one moronic douche that wore a Favre jersey to the game. It wasn't even to troll as the fan usually reacted in a way that displayed totally obliviousness to the ire. Nothing unites Bears and Vikings fans more than a hatred of Green Bay and Favre, at least before his turncoat days at the end of his career.
