What is interesting and painful for Breece is if he would have gone say to the Bills at #25 like many projected you think oh that's only 11 spots difference. Well that cost him over 4 million dollars. Yikes.

I'm sure he will be able to get by with "only" 9 mill though. :)
The silver lining is there is no 5th year option in his contract, so he can hit the market a year earlier. Could be huge for him if he becomes one of the top backs in the league in his first 4 years. I'm sure he would still want that first round if he could have got it, but at least some consolation there.

Breece and Sauce had a Twitter exchange about it.

I think they usually let the higher pick get the first choice of what number they want so advantage goes to Sauce unfortunately for Breece.

Reading the twitter comments on that post with the number, I never realized there were so many people who were so outspoken on what number a player chooses.

Think some of it is they want to buy a jersey but they don't want to wear what they consider a "bad" number. I agree in the sense that certain numbers look/fit good for a position/player and others don't.

I dont love the number, I'd go with #2 to remind other teams what round you were drafted...come to think of it, there were 35 players drafted before him. It's all making sense now.

See, now I actually like that number. Would be pretty sweet if he had a great game vs Buffalo. . .

The Jets have been a miserable franchise in recent years, but they have relatively new head coach and a young team with some exciting players. I may not only get a Breece jersey, I may have to consider getting Sunday ticket so I can watch

I admit to being kinda rusty with how NFL endorsement deals go nowadays.

But while I’m sure that Buffalo is a good team, I’m also reasonably sure that if the Jets get their act some semblance of together and Breece plays as well for them as he did for us…that in a major market like NYC, he’s gonna make up that $4 mill difference pretty soon—and then some.

Looks like Sauce may be getting that #1 so maybe Breece could take over the #20 that Sauce would open up.
