This is strange and kind of alarming. McMurphy is usually the most accurate and seems to have several sources while making these picks.

I cannot imagine turning town Texas to go to Memphis AGAIN. Even with the date/distance challenges. Woof.

I'd almost rather drive to Memphis than go to Houston. Neither town is that exciting, but regardless, I'd want to support this team and drink a lot. So either place is good. Pool or pond.

The big 12 has a solid shot at getting 3 teams selected to the NY6, largely because the 3rd choice-by rule- is Oklahoma and they are an attractive 10-2.

Just wish the date of that bowl wasn't Tuesday, January 4th. Think that is a tough date for most fans to attend. Most will have to be back to work if they took time off prior to that for the Holidays.

Any bowl during the week of christmas is better than jan 4th in houston...makes no sense to have that bowl a week after most bowl games.

Would anyone really be surprised if ND makes it in over Cincy? In the same breath, the committee would praise ND for a quality loss to Cincy but then decry Cincy for a poor strength of schedule.

And completely whitewash the fact that ND’s schedule is almost as bad as Cincy’s.

because we were just there two years ago and Kstate has never been, they dont travel like we do but they would draw pretty well

I don't see how they would pass on us either as a fan. However, the potential is there that K State fans are more excited about their record and overall season than Iowa State fans are which would impact attendance, travel and economic impact. Combine that with the fact that we were just there and K State hasn't been in a while and they could go that route.
It's really a similar reason why we got in a couple of years ago.

Ah I wasn't aware that they hadn't gone there before. I never really had the impression that K-State fans were super amped about their season this year. Have they gone to the Texas and Liberty bowl recently?

KSU went to the Liberty Bowl the year we went to Orlando.
