I'm thinking 20k+ cyclone fans for the liberty bowl. Maybe even more. Im thinking Tulsa might bring like 8k-10k (kinda doubtful). Hoping its a great atmosphere!

I just confirmed my group of 4 is driving down on the 29th. I can't wait to party with 20k other cyclone fans!

love me some kool-aid......40,000!

but OP may be on to something, I had no intentions of going (I have 3 little kids and the wife has to work the 31st) until last night, I was joking with the wife about going and she said how much.

16 hours later I am now going and bringing 3-4 others that weren't planning on going.

As of yesterday, I saw the athletic department tweet they had sold 2500 tickets, this morning JP tweeted that 1000 students had bought tickets. So off to a good start.

I am hoping for number somewhere in the 15K range to make a good showing down in Memphis.

selling 3k tickets in the first day its pretty good. I wasn't planning on going, but then a group of friends and myself just decided we'd make the drive down. Were looking to get 3-4 more too on top of our group of 4

I wouldn't be surprised with... say 18,000 Cyclone fans at least. It's a drivable distance to the bowl game from Iowa. I know I will be there!!

I also think 20,000 is probably pushing it. I could maybe see 12k-15k in Memphis. But always seems like there are a thousand or two that come to the bowl city, but stay out partying in the lots. I would think us selling all 10k tickets through the school will be a good accomplishment, with another few thousand that get tickets from other sources.

The way the hotels are booking makes me think there's a lot of people going. It’s been less than 48 hours that we've known we are going to Memphis, and the turnout sounds good so far.

Ticket sales remain strong...could get to 5,000 by end of day. Students at 959. Kudos to Cyclonefanatic for selling out four bus trips

JP said his goal was to have to ask for more tickets above the 10k alotment.. which shouldnt be a problem with Tulsa not bringing over 10k to the conference championship

Well this thread is making me feel bad we didn't get tickets through ISU (figured they'd sell out), but I've got 3 going from 3 different parts of the country (Maryland, Texas and California)

Anything over 10,000 will be OK. I'm thinking 13,000 +. I wonder how many made the Kansas game? This rematch is painful, the Clones are in a "no-win" situation. Unless they completely dominate and win big.

Why wouldn't a person go?

- Tickets are relatively cheap ($55 or $25 for student)
- No plane tickets required
- Worlds best BBQ
- Beale St on New Years Eve
- Big Cyclone victory!

The number will be 15k.

Actually, the only criteria for a game to a be "no-win" is to score fewer points than the opponent. If we win big or small, we'll all be happy. Rutgers fans talked about ISU the same way last year before the poopstripe bowl. I don't recall them being so bummed about having to play us after they won. I wish we could all agree to dispense with the half-empties and just enjoy the ride.
