Don't know why anyone would pick us to lose this game? UNI is solid but not great. ISU had an edge talent wise by a big margin. UNC blew that game at UNI it wasn't bc UNI is so good. They have lost to Colorado State Richmond and New Mexico and ISU is obviously much better than them. It's not at UNI. Really I just can't understand why you would pick UNI?
UNI is ranked 70th on Ken Pom. Their defense is ranked 97th and ISU is 23. Their offense is ranked 65 and ISU is 22. CW, come on man! You are acting as if ISU is the lesser team and they only way they win is with this extra motivation

One thing that I think has been overstated about this years team is their bad first halves. Iowa obviously was. Maybe buffalo.
But it I don't think pine bluff was. That was a game where Iowa state kind of played lazy, but the game was never in doubt. We did enough to have a 8-15 point lead most of the game.
No no matter how good a team is, they can't lead by 20 at the first media timeout. And I think some people think that we have bad first halves if that doesn't happen.
Also, 4 teams have 3 wins against top 25 rpi teams. Iowa state is one of them. You can say rpi doesn't matter right now, but it is still a good thing.

9-0... We've played far from our best basketball yet. We are adding a piece, and I personally think Matt Thomas is becoming the player we all thought he was going to be. Remember Matty-T started before Naz in 2013. We don't have room for another injury, but lets just enjoy the ride. If nothing else this is going to give Hallice, Matt, and Deonte more experience going into next season. The BIG12 is scary good this year, but there will be a drop off next year for everyone, besides maybe Kansas. Things are just getting interesting!
This season is reminding me a lot more of 13/14 than last year. Won't be surprised if we keep doubting ourselves to another undefeated non-con slate.
It would be nice to be undefeated going into the OU game. OU will be coming off a 10 day break. I've watched them a few times this year. They are playing well, but besides a overrated Nova Team. They haven't played anyone either. I personally think our non-con is more impressive than OU's. Call me crazy. Just my opinion.
I for one, am very glad to not have to play at UNI. UNI is a solid team but I will be very surprised if we do not beat them solidly (10-12 pts) at WFA. If it was still a home/home like the past, I would worry every other year.
Its not crazy. They have the best win, but right now our Colorado and Iowa win would be better than their other ones. We will see if that stands up.
Also oklahoma was ahead by 5 against oral Roberts at half last week. I wonder if we will talk about their terrible halvees.
I also think Matt will excel being in the starting lineup. It felt like he was more comfortable in that role versus the spark off the bench (which he was really getting a hold of). I'll take the good guys by 10.
Weren't all these on the road? I'd bet ISU would struggle a bit against those teams on the road. Might have even better prepared them for the game in Wells Fargo compared to our Gulf Coast and Sioux Falls games
I remember catching a few minutes of this game. CSU's guards were destroying UNI's defense. UNC on the other hand played 4 forwards and couldn't defend guards.
I do not feel good about this game. I fear the same lackadaisical effort, the "oh, we can turn it on in the 2nd half," stuff we've seen the last few games will continue until it finally bites them in the ***. I'm afraid it's going to bite them in the ***** this weekend, and in a big way.

I think ISU may have been down before the UAPB game. Perhaps some inside information about one of their players being done for the rest of the year. I don't think that happens tomorrow though. They'll win this for Naz, ISU by 15!
