There are more Blink fans in this one thread than I have met in my entire life. The song "I'm Feeling It" is a definite contender for the worst song ever recorded.

If your going to bag on a song, at least know the right name of it. :jimlad: But I agree, despite my love of the band, their last album was not the band I grew up listening to.

As a Blink fan I am not thrilled by the reunion news. Their music never grew like I hoped and their tours digressed in quality from tour to tour. It's tough to write about teen angst when you are in your mid-thirties.

I am very excited about the stuff ANA is putting out. When I compare that to the music +44 released it's kind of obvious where the talent lies.

I'll buy the next record and go to the next show. I just hope I am not disappointed...again. I also hope Delong stays with ANA.

I agree with the hope it's like Dude Ranch comment.

blink and Weezer were my two favorite groups growing up and after the Red Album catastrophe, I wish Weezer would've stayed retired.

I can't imagine these guys going on tour again though, the boob jokes are just a bit much for three 30 something dads. I will, however, do my best to go see them. Looking forward to the new album eagerly.

Oh, and I agree with the +44 comment Enginerd, however Tom does put together very good riffs

Of the many things I don not like about the Grammy's and things, are when stars, like Whitney last night, use the moment to say something, not about the show, just to stay on camera a little longer. I thought Blink did this a little too, which I am sure is why they were on there, but is an awards show the time to make your career announcement, or is it to honor the (cough) best songs of last year?

I agree with your post 100%.
p.s. It's actually AVA, not ANA.

AvA AND +44 were both turds. Neither of those two compared to the glory of Box Car Racer or the Transplants, in terms of side projects that is.

I would take +44 over Box Car and the 2nd Transplants album (the first one was f-ing awesome). Better songwriting, imo.

I'm not going to lie, Blink-182 was one of my favorite bands in high school. It got me into first, punk rock, and more importantly, branching out a little from the standard fair heard over the air waves in the radio hell known as northern Iowa. Because of them I started listening to older punk bands (like The Descendents), and eventually just started broadening my entire sonic palatte, as now I listen to a wider range of music (classic rock, grunge, alt-country, jam bands, etc).

To be honest, I really don't care much for some of Blink's music anymore. There are some classic songs I still like, but some that are just way too aimed at a specifically high school audience, and I can't really relate anymore. Makes me feel like Wooderson, from Dazed and Confused.

All that said, I hope they're getting back together because they miss making music together (and not for the $), and that their new album keeps moving in the direction (maturity) that their last record went. They really had some balls on that record, as far as expanding what they were trying to do.

I'm going to have to disagree big time here. ANA is just a bunch of U2 riffs with Tom DeLonge sounding whinier than ever while singing pompous, overblown lyrics. Tuneless rubbish, imo. While he aims for something grander than +44 did, he falls so far short of hitting his mark. +44 focused on writing good songs, with some mild experimentation, rather than going Bono all over the place, and it made for a MUCH more listenable record, imo.
