I was with him on the first one because I do feel for the people that have to work on thanksgiving day just because of this stupid shopping "tradition".

He lost me we be went on too many rants though.
I would quit if I had to work on thanksgiving.

I can't imagine working at Target, Walmart or Best Buy tonight when the floodgates open. Hell on earth

Not sure when they opened, because I normally don't even bother looking at ads, but my nephew convinced my brother in law to go to Target about 9 PM in Iowa City. I ended up going with because he needed directions and I found an air mattress deal I wanted. It really wasn't as bad as I was worried about, other than a ****ton of people in there. Line started halfway back in the store, but we got thru in 20 mins. I jokingly texted my wife that the only difference between Target and Ferguson is that people were paying for ****.

I went Black Friday shopping for the first time ever. About 10:45pm. Not too many people. My first purchase? A pair of pajamas for my 3 y/o. 4 bucks. Cray, I know.

God, I must be getting old.

My wife used the promise of sex to get me to go about 6 or 7 years ago. I stood in line with a cart why she ran around to put stuff in. I got so annoyed by the whole thing and the people around me that I pushed the cart in the aisle and walked out and sat in my truck. My wife called me and I told her no amount of money saved or offering of sex is worth that BS. She never asks me anymore and she herself just shops online or during sane times at stores.

I have some some friends and family that take it way too seriously.

I went out to Wal-Mart down here. I got to see a lady punch a dude in the jaw over a small LCD TV and then cuffed and escorted out. It was priceless.

I buy all the movies I want for the year on black friday when I can get them for reasonable prices. I picked up 13 movies for 70 bucks so I say thats a win.

My first job from graduating ISU was in Wal-Mart's management program. I made it almost 4 years before I just quit with no job, no prospects. I just couldn't handle it anymore, and my last day was the day before Thanksgiving. Since then, I have never shopped on Black Friday, other than to go to Lowes and get a live tree with my girls. That's it.

This is what my hubby usually does. And then we usually never watch them. But we keep doing it. This is how we got started on The Walking Dead, he bought the first season cheap and we actually watched it. We have a bunch of seasons of Mad Men that we haven't gotten around to opening yet. I bought Orange is the New Black last night.

I ask myself every year, is saving $100 really worth me losing all faith in humanity? Usually I decide no and sit home and get almost as good of deals on cyber Monday.

On our way to the in-laws yesterday, I noticed people already starting to line up at Best Buy. it was about 10 in the morning. I think the store opened at 6. I always wonder what 8 hours is worth to those people. I guess I could see if you were saving $1000 or so on something you just had to get, but my time is a little more valuable than spending a day in line so I can save a couple of hundred dollars. I didn't even see anything that struck me as a have to get item at a great price, let alone stand in line for 8 hours for it.

It's kind of scary the level of dumb people will resort to, just to save a few bucks on something they don't even need. This **** should happen for food and water, not so you can have a flatscreen in your garage.
