He's a great blocker so that would be my guess. It's certainly not because of his receiving production
Yeah, I thought him and Spears had a chance, but they're always partial to guys that have been around longer it seems like.
Lanning should win the "We Don't Have A Category for Someone Who Does What He Did" award!
He absolutely deserves it for the impact he made on the defense, but his job was to take up as many blockers as possible which doesn't earn him any stats.
Texas with 4 and TCU with 5 on the first team defense and ISU with only one? Given how we held so many teams below their season average, I think we could have rated better than that.
Also, Bailey should have made 2nd team at the very worst.
