According to Chip Brown, there is an important Big XII meeting today between the ADs and Beebe to 'hash out important issues' moving forward. Fingers crossed that everyone hugs it out and things go smoothly......

Chip is using UT. What are you talking about. Chip has made a small fortune by having the best info during the realignment.

There is no question Chip received his minute of fame and unquestionably a lot of money because of this ordeal, but it certainly doesn't change the fact that he got used (albeit willingly) by the University of Texas. But then, when you think about it, Texas has used just about everybody and everything lately, hasn't it?

Hijack of thead over!

Only just a little bit more than NU has...

And how, pray tell, did Nebraska use somebody, jbhtexas? Unlike Texas who first threatened to go to the Big 10 and then threatened to drag five willing accomplises with it to the Pac 10, before find a way to screw the remaining schools in the conference, Nebraska very quietly went about its business, found a situation that was in the long-term best interests of the university and then did it. Quite a difference, don't ya think?

We'll never know the whole story for sure, but the picture you paint of Nebraska is questionable. There are some holes in the story Osborne provided the Regents. There is no doubt they did a good job of looking decent in the media.

It's not different. Both schools were just playing the cards they'd been dealt to secure the best deal they could.

Unfortunately, UT is sitting on a royal flush, while we are bluffing with a pair of jacks. Not quite as bad as the pair of 2's that Baylor has, but not all that much better either. Luckily it looks like we're good at bluffing.

Quite frankly.... Nebraska over-valued themselves just a bit. When the Big XII was formed who didn't want any of the other schools added? Nebraska. When those schools were added who voted against equal revenue sharing? Nebraska. When the Big XII title game was voted on to be moved for several years to Dallas who voted against it and cried that the North schools had shown no solidarity with them? Nebraska.

Nebraska has turned into a bunch of freaking crybabies. They expect everyone in the North to do what is best for Nebraska at their own expense yet have no problem voting to get themselves a bigger piece of the revenue pie then their "ungrateful" North division counterparts receive. Nebraska is a wannabe bully and they dream of the day that they wield the power that Texas has. Jealousy is a *****. They couldn't get what they wanted so they took the first bus out of town... aka they took their ball and went home. Tom Osborne is a first class ******* with serious ***** envy towards Texas and that in a nutshell is why they bolted.

+1
Most of this is probably because they still think they are relevant in football.

I also think Nebraska fans are just a little injured that the Big 12 not only survived their departure, but it will thrive without them.

:biglaugh:

Yeah, those would be quite different. It's just too bad that your spin on the recent goings on is pretty much divorced from reality. NU "quietly" went about its business? Seriously? NU was making just as much noise about going to the Big Ten as UT was.

As posted above, NU has been pretty much using the North schools since the inception of the conference.

If you want to be a shill for NU and Tom Osborne, that's fine. Just don't be surprised if nobody here buys your wares.

Correct. And when Osborne figures out that he can't bully around the other schools in the Big Ten either, he'll alienate himself from the rest of the conference, just like he did in the Big 12.

I have as much chance of playing in the NBA as Notre Dame does of joining the Big Texas League.
