2007 Big 12 Bowl Match Ups Announced :: <blank>

Dec. 2, 2007

Irving, Texas - For the sixth time in the last seven seasons the Big 12 Conference sends eight teams to postseason bowls. This also marks the fourth time the Conference will have two teams playing in BCS games.

"I am very pleased the Big 12 had a second team selected to play in the Bowl Championship Series," said commissioner Dan Beebe. "This has been a competitive season in the Big 12 with programs playing at a high-level nationally, resulting in multiple teams worthy of BCS at-large consideration."

When it is not ranked in the top two of the final BCS Standings, the Big 12 Conference champion plays in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.

Following is a listing of Big 12 bowl match ups (all times are CT):

Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Oklahoma (11-2) vs. West Virginia (10-2)Wed., Jan 2 7:00 p.m.

Man I think Mizzou got hosed. Their only loses came from the same team (Oklahoma). Beat Kansas and didn't make it into a BCS bowl. Thats pretty bogus

Here are my gut reaction picks for the Big 12 games:

Oklahoma over West Virginia
Virginia Tech over Kansas
Arkansas over Missouri (I think getting left out of the BCS will have Missouri unfocused and reeling)
Virginia over Texas Tech
Texas over Arizona State
Penn State over A&M
Oklahoma State over Indiana
Colorado over Alabama

4-4 overall.

I agree that Missouri has a poor chance at winning. Teams that get screwed over by selection committees seem to most often just "mail in" their bowl games.

Though occasionally they get up to make a "statement".

I'd soooo like to see Texas Tech bring their "A" game to Virginia. If they did, they'd blow them out. They're capable of it, for sure.

Actually, I wouldn't mind Kansas thumping up on Va Tech, either.

KU and Mizzou are in new situations. For each of them, their last games, big ones too, they lost. Both are new to winning like this in football, can they shake off a "bad" loss and make an appearance in a bowl game 1 month from now? I really want them too, but I don't see it happening.

-keep.

Missouri probably has the lone distinction of beating two BCS teams... Illinois and Kansas, although both of those bids, in my opinion, are undeserving.

I know I am in the minority here but I don't think that Mizzou got screwed. They had 2, thats right 2, chances to beat the SAME team. All they had to do was go 1-1 vs. Okie and chances are pretty good they would have been in a BCS bowl.

As much as I cheer for Indiana because a friend goes to grad school there, they are gonna get hammered by OSU. My prediction is the Pokes put up 50 points and 500+ yards on offense.

I agree with you all Mizzou had to do was beat OK once. But yet the only team Mizzou has lost to was OK. Kansas lost to Mizzou and didn't even play OK.

The funny thing is I don't even like KU or MU. I think im just mad that KU MU and OK beat eachother out of the national championship and the buckeyes slide there way in with nothing special to their record

Since we get screwed about everytime we play at mizzou...I am soooo happy that old mizzou got screwed out of a decent bowl game.

Maybe old mizzou should cry less and win more!!!!!!!!!!!!(same applies to the uofi)

Yeah, and we could host bowling tournaments in the MU Underground, that'd be a great place wouldn't it?

At least Missouri got to the Cotton and didn't slide all the way to the Alamo like KSU did in 98(?) that was a joke.
