But now that the plan is out, there is no way the CFP will follow the same plan as before. The new proposals will be focused on limiting the influence of one large league getting more spots and thus more money.
We'll see. What you suggest is not an efficient market, which ultimately limits revenue to the CFP.

Generally speaking, it is not wise to give a league with enough pull to garner $80 million/team from TV revenue, the same access to those that can only pull $25million/team, or $6 million if the AAC. Sure have autos in the 12 team CFP, but no conference caps.

If the SEC adds a couple more top brands outside their current footprint, the networks bidding will pay more for a setup that allows for just going with conference winners plus the top-x teams.

The Big 12 should align or alliance with the SEC (and ND) on this. Sell our vote and give the SEC uncapped access after the 6 autos. How much would a post-season make without the Big 12 and SEC plus ND, OuT, Clemson, FSU, USC, Oregon? Way less than the other side, that is for sure. You know where I am going with that. If a fission is coming, there is value to the Big 12 to be the swing conference (like Covid). If that path were to be clearly laid out to the BIG, their recourse is to start buying.

If the CFP change needs to be "nearly unanimous" to go into effect as has been reported, there is not likely much value in the Big 12 as a swing vote on the subject.

I guess it depends on how the financial split works. If each of the 12 bids is equal, then I think the concern there is that the SEC continues to further the gap between them and the rest of CFB if they control the majority of the playoff teams. So maybe it's an easier sell if they set it up so that with the auto bids, a majority of the money is set to each conference and the wildcards are a smaller payout. Say like 80% is guaranteed and spread out to all FBS conferences at a rate consistent with their size and following. Then 20% is spread to the conferences of the wildcard teams. So it still pays to get multiple teams, but it's not so large that it'll further imbalance the sport.

This makes sense if The Alliance plans to leave Big 12 out in the cold or doesn’t absorb some Big 12 teams in expansion. I wouldn’t get in bed with ESPN/SEC without all options exhausted. AAC was effectively a slush conference/inventory fluffer, and those teams (UCF, Cincy) were not getting respect in the playoff even as undefeated teams. No use falling right back into the SEC/ESPN plot unless there’s equitable benefit for Big 12 for representation.

All parties in expanded CFP now say they want multiple media partners thus giving the finger to ESPN and their power play to get the entire expanded playoff wrapped up by stealing OUT.
