Best Mainstream breakfast restaurant?

It's not in the upper tier, but it holds its own. The quality of life here is still fairly good all things considered.

MS and the other deep South states are consistently bottom 5 in almost all facets. The worst places in Iowa don't hold a candle to some of these places in rural MS/AL/WV.

I'm not going to claim Iowa is anywhere near the top of places to live, although I would argue the DSM metro is pretty great place to raise a family. There is a reason it has been popping up on lots of top ten lists over the last 5 years. There are definitely a lot worse places to live. I'm not sure I would want to live anywhere else in the state though.

3 or 4 times a week I will encounter a 4 block traffic jam that ends up being an In&Out Burger drive through line. The food is just ok but it's somewhat fresh and it costs less than McD's. I suspect the fact that it's the cheapest meal in the state of CA is part of the success.

In N Out is basic. You can have a single, double and like cheese on those. Then you can add fries and a drink. Fries are awful. Didn’t care for it. We were at the one in Waco.

Lol, it was a very quick google search but did you not see the eggs, sausage and gravy? They’re only plain if you don’t mix them with other food on your plate.

Any small town short order breakfast counter would have to be up there in terms of price and quality over these chain restaurants. Ate at Perkins with my wife and three kids last weekend and it was $75.

Not to get too far down this road, but we had a lot of bad info growing up about what was/wasn't healthy. Sugar is a hell of a drug.

Wendy's ???? Maybe I should try them again the one I had was so bad I fed it to the dog. KwikStar does a decent job on breakfast croissants, the need to cook their english muffins a little crisper though.

The only good things for b-fast at McDs are the bacon egg cheese McGriddle and their has browns.

Been to San Antonio quite a few times for shows at the convention center and will always have breakfast at Denny’s right across from the Marriott. I think I have like a five course breakfast every time I go there.

Not even remotely true. Both my girlfriend and I are close to the obese side with BMI. We lift weights and have a good amount of muscle in us. Could we stand to lose a few pounds? Sure. But we are both far from obese.
