These threads always provide a great breakdown of the demographics of the board. There's hardly anyone listed so far that played in high school prior to 1985, and bunch from 1991-present.

Terry Woods- Waterloo East
Morgan Wheat- West Des Moines Valley

Sorry if I spelled some of them wrong

Those are the best I have ever seen play in Iowa. If you guessed I am from Des Moines you would be right.

I don't know about the individual names, but I'm quite disturbed that you spelled W-A-T-E-R-L-O-O wrong...

Surprised to see no one mention Horner. Jeff Horner was one of the most dominant high school players I've ever seen. I watched him three times and he put up 40+ in all of them.

Morgan Wheat was a great high school player (went to Valley at the same time he did) but I think Hoiberg was the best I've ever seen in person. The duel Hoiberg and Beechum had at Vets in the state tournament was amazing.

The Valley team with Matt Bullard and Mike Born was excellent as well.

Too young for the Roland Rocket but based on reputation he has to be on the list.

Not the best players - but guys who won a lot.

Brian Pearson and Troy Skinner at Palmer - 3 straight undefeated state champs.

Neal Fegebank of Paulina (can't think of the other top player on his team) - 3 straight state champs back around 1970 when there was only 2 classes in Iowa.

Des Moines, Ia.
You guys are doing a great job of mentioning Central Iowa players over the last twenty-five years who are good.
