Just want to know. If you cheer for any other team you can post as well.

Best Memory: ISU beating Cincinnati in the Tournament. My favorite memory because I was in an apartment in Minneapolis cheering along with friends and family. We were jumping up and down on the floor and their neighbors were getting ******.

Worst Memory: ISU losing to UCLA the next round. Main reason was because this was the first time my parents allowed me to stay up late to watch tv. I was so depressed the next day at school. I HATE UCLA TO THIS DAY!

I too was bummed about ucla and clay edwards, I can't remember why.

my favorite moment was brice drew's game winner- it was the year before I got to valpo.

other than the ucla game, hampton is pretty bad.

Best memories - ISU beating the hell out of a hot UCLA team in the Sweet Sixteen back in 2000 on our way to the Elite Eight, also probably helps out that I got some action later on that night as well ;)

Tie - last season being in Oklahoma City watching UNI (where I got my bachelor's from, dual fan here) beat Kansas. Simply amazing.

Worst- by far and away the Hampton loss back in '01. I destroyed my living room during the game as we choked away our lead and I think I skipped a couple of heartbeats when Tinsley's lay-up rolled off the rim. I think I got three hours of sleep that night I was so upset about it. You hear people talk about losing sleep after games like that, and for me it wasn't a cliche.

Best: The CBS Tourney Talking Heads saying before the MSU v ISU game that this was pretty much for the Nat'l Championship. Also, beating the 2000 UCLA team that we lost to in the OP's worst memory (1997 team).

Worst: At the time - MSU no contest. After 10 years, probably Hampton because it is salt in the wound every year around this time when then talk about how 2 seeds can lose and show that turtle of a coach getting lifted up by his players.

I agree with these. Although I wouldn't say we beat the hell out of UCLA - I'd prefer to call it "systematically destroyed" them. It was funny - the media thought they were going to embarrass the hell out of us, and yet it was vice versa.

I honestly don't think any ISU fan can honestly say they have a worse tournament memory than what happened in 2001, especially since CBS is so kind to remind us of it every single year and will do so until another 15 or 16 seed knocks off a 2 or 1...

Best - Beating Michigan in Minneapolis to go to the Sweet 16. "The JV vs. the Varsity" as the announcers said.

Close second - the run to the final 8 in its entirety (even the loss to MSU)

Worst - Hampton by one million percent.

Followed by - UCLA coming back and beating the Willoughby/Pratt team on a layup late. If Cato doesn't trim his fingernails for a couple of days he would have blocked it.

Best memory is a tie between win over Michigan in 1986 and win over UCLA in 2000.

Worst memory is, of course, Hampton.

Gotta go with Michigan and Michigan St.

Ronnie Virgil was guarding their Center and the announcer said it looks like the varsity against the JV.

Hampton hurt but it was easy to tell from the Baylor loss that the 2001 team was out of gas.

worst was losing to Michigan State because we probably would have won the national title if we had won that game

Worst? Hands down, the Hampton game. Worst non-ISU related memory? Laetner's perfect game against Kentucky. Geez, I hate Duke.

Favorite tourney memory has to be tearing up UCLA in 2000.

WBB best - Beating UCONN. Was there and it was GREAT!

WBB worst - Losing to Rutgers at Hilton. My kids were even crying.

MBB best - Beating Michigan after the announcers said it would be like the JV playing the Varsity (or something like that).

MBB worst - Hampton...ugggghh

Best: Beating Michigan to get to the Sweet 16, 1986

Worst: Hampton, 2001

UCLA 2000 was huge (and sweet payback for '97), but I didn't actually get to see much of that game. .... and other than the scoring margin, it was an expectation as a 2 seed to win that game and reach the Elite 8. I admit I was a little nervous after what UCLA did to Maryland in the previous round.

Nothing comes close to the '01 low. MSU '00 was gut-wrenching, considering ISU had them by the throat before it all unwound. In retrospect it's more painful. At the time I did think we may never get a better Final Four chance, but I also thought, "this program has officially arrived" and Sweet 16/Elite 8 seasons might become common.

Seeding-wise, yeah, we were expected to win that game. But for whatever reason (whether it was just the famed UCLA name, or what they did to Maryland, or what they did to us 3 years previously), the media was expecting, or at least cheering for, UCLA to win. They were honestly surprised that we laid the wood to UCLA that night, because that entire week both CBS and ESPN were of the attitude that while we had a chance to win, they didn't expect us to.

There are quite a few "best" NCAA Tournament moments for ISU but not that many videos of them. :)realmad:) Due to that I will submit an alternate best moment....

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Drr10nbhx1E"]YouTube - Northwestern State Defeats Iowa in NCAA Tourney - Radio Call[/ame]

The absolute worst....

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pErHKXVV9Nk"]YouTube - Hampton's Pep Band after the upset win over Iowa State NCAA[/ame]

This was a bad one too... I found myself cheering for Drake since they hadn't had any real basketball success for quite some time. It was a real shame it had to end like this...
