Old Chicago in Ankeny isn't too bad either, nice TV's, good beer selection, decent food.

It would be ok for watching, ask for a table in the back. I would eat lunch and then head over to Benchwarmers or even 34's before I stayed at jethros for a game.

I gave 34's 3 strikes and I was out of there. Haven't been back since Benchwarmer's reopened. Unless that place has changed drastically I won't be back.

Just moved to Ankeny not to long ago, haven't had the opportunity to stop into Benchwarmers yet. Will this be a good place to catch the game tomorrow while having a few brews?

I'd go to tasty tacos first to get some grub, then stop by the lumberyard to get some wood. Then benchwarmers would be a decent place to catch a game.

Is Benchwarmers now owned by the same people who owned 3rd Base?

I believe one of the current owners of Benchwarmers owned 3rd base, but the other two owners are young Ankeny guys with Cyclone connections. One of the owners played baseball for the Clones, then transferred to Texas when the Clones dropped baseball and picked up a national championship ring. Good Cyclone game watch bar with good pizza, onion rings and sandwiches.
